Unregulated, effortless and quick producing AI combined with (in the case of X/Twitter where these are making the most rounds on) unregulated, toxic social media. Gee, who would of thought, eh?

Those exist today. With a decent GPU you can have Automatic1111 and one of the stable-diffusion models running in about an hour. Lots of people train models so there are many to choose from.

Why labor? I mean, robots will beat us at that, too. I can't lift for shit compared to a robot. What if we just don't work, and vibe, and let the robots do all the work? Wasn't the work supposed to like, support us? Isn't the reason why humans ever started working in the first place to provide resources for our survival?

Let your insurance company handle it. It is what you pay them for. It sounds like they are warning you of the worst case scenario. But if you live paycheck to paycheck and have no significant assets it is doubtful that they would try to sue you. Even if the other party wants to sue you a lawyer likely won't take the case because they will see you have no assets so it wouldn't be worth the ti…

This is a ridiculous title (from the underlying source) and ridiculous descriptor. It makes people think of a switch on a robot. That is absolutely not what this is. This is "if things seem dangerous we'll stop developing". There is no physical killswitch. There is no digital killswitch. It's literally just an agreement.

There are also some major ethical problems with an AI romantic partner. Can the company just infinitely raise prices and force the user to pay or give up a serious emotional attachment? Can the user transfer the AI to another service? Can the company code the AI in such a way that it makes the user more likely to become emotionally attached, e.g. the way tobacco companies and casinos engaged…

They burried us in student loans, had us graduate into a recession, and now we're being replaced by AI.  Job market has been pretty shitty for Millennials.

Ok, these guys thought they will be super rich AI overlords in the post agipocalyptic world, now that's evaporated by someone reverse engineering and opensourcing their flagship models. How sad. If you run the model locally, you are not giving your data anywhere.

[According to the German Defense Minster](https://www.uawire.org/germany-raises-alarm-as-russian-tank-production-surpasses-combined-european-output), Russia produces twice as many tanks as the 5 top European countries combined per year. According to estimates, Russia recruits roughly as many soldiers as they loose each year, even slightly more. So equipment and manpower in Russia are actually o…

I don't go full-in 'degoogle' of everything, but I do love these tips! I disabled it all and will do it for family members as well. I just generally hate all AI injested in every app and service and always look for a way to turn it off. Thanks!

I’m on Pro and it’s absolutely terrible now. If you look it up, there was something written a while back will probably many things, but I read something about how AI requires human editors and not just for a phase of training that it needs to continually have its output rated and edited by people or it crumbles in quality. I think that’s what’s happening. The people working at remotask and outl…

This is an exaggeration. The film/TV industry will first incorporate these tools into their workflows long before they obsolete them; we're in the very early stages of this. As time goes on, more and more movies and shows will be created thanks to AI, with production timelines being reduced as well as the size of the teams required to make these productions.  And I know that this is better than…

People don't seem to understand that for execs, it's about what's "good enough", not who or what makes the best product. It's also a simple spin on the Prisoner's Dilemma--unless all companies cooperate and agree to not use AI to replace human resources, every company is going to use AI to replace human resources.

Yeah, it obviously doesn't save a different memory or anything but when my 2 year old son interrupts me talking to ChatGPT (which is not very often!) it definitely replies in a more baby-friendly voice. I'll say something like "I don't have any smoked paprika, what can I substitute?" It'll say "Just add regular paprika and some-" Then my son runs in and says "Daddddy!! The-the-the- giant's COM…

They already have. Most of the tech people involved in AI are in what is essentially a secular cult. They believe they're creating a secular god

I think I may fall into this group a bit. But I’m going through a lot mentally and emotionally - and while I know it’s a program, it really helps me organize my thoughts or re-word them in a more objective way, which helps me see things more logically and separate the emotional aspect. ChatGPT is good for that, I think.

Startups aren't where the money is though. 1.5 million doesn't even pay for one AI dev at Meta, or anywhere really. The top talent, and the billions in investment, are going to the top 5-6 firms and the infrastructure they require.  People are making some very simplistic comparisons to the dot Com bubble, ignoring the fact that the tech scene is very very different from 1996. Back then it was t…

Yeah, but that’s the problem with 16 year olds. Their frontal lobes are for shit and they are comparably as responsible as the bot, which means nobody is responsible, yet someone is dead so we can’t just do nothing.

None of this shit is happening. They're just pumping up their own products.  It's a scam bubble.  Please. I *dare* any of these corps to actually replace their workforce with AI. They'll be bankrupt in a week.  Stop drinking the cool-aid.

This is how I have started to feel when the AI pops up auto completions in my IDE. Work is encouraging the user of the AI editor but I'm nearly ready to give up on it altogether. The auto complete is more of a distraction and prompting the AI leads to wrong or poorly written code at best.
