South Korea is essentially an island nation without many resources. Its tech sector rules the country, with only a handful of companies making up a huge portion of the GDP.
Most young adults attempt to get into these companies, with Samsung even offering a standardized test which is seen as a right of passage. Failure to get into these companies is considered shameful.
South Korea is also very…
To no mention the malignant validation some might get from LLMs that enables bad or questionable behavior. The worst person you know might be out there, questioning for a brief moment if they actually could do some critical reflecting about themselves, only to have AI tell them that they’re the one’s who are misunderstood/the victim and that their behavior is not the issue.
1. I don’t believe them 2. That’s not the flex they think it is cause their products keep getting shiitier 3. Just AI propaganda
I don't think we're prepared for the black Friday ai robot sales of 2029 that will finally give the masses endless sandwiches and all the hand jobs and compliments a man could ever want.
A very significantly large portion of the population is going to cut themselves out of the gene pool.
My sneaking suspicion is that 2 or 3 generations from now people will be absurdly good looking. Only the g…
Ironic his AI generated image depicted him as some dork while the pencil guy looks like Chad.
If only people in our current government cared instead of deregulating AI for their billionaire donors
Its true that medicine is very algorithmic 90% of the time but so is basically every other job, including complex fields like engineering, accountancy, etc...
By the time AI significantly reduces the number of physicians, we'll probably be even further down that road in basically every other profession especially given medicine's resistance to change. It'll be a totally different economy.
The sometimes nightmarish uncanny valley-esqueness of art done by artificial intelligence is a style all its own.
No laughing matter I swear. Even my high sense of humor couldn't find this funny at all. That's someone's child probably a potential husband and a father some little girl or boy😢
Reminds me of the old Chess "Robot" from the 1770's that was just some Grandmaster chess guy in a box controlling the robot like a puppet.
250 years later... We still have people pretending to be AI to scam investors out of money 🤣
I'm sorry that this is long. You've been warned.
AI will eventually become more efficient and it will take less manpower to create the desired results, which equals to more profit so most will adapt it.
My fear is the generations that will not pursue an art's education because it is pointless since AI exists.
AI art will further lower the demand for art programs across the world. Kids won't ev…
I find it funny how most all people using generative ai are in no way actually disabled and yet use it as a scape goat to somehow justify their use of it
The clarity of Geoffrey Hinton's descriptions are stunning. I've been trying to find ways in which to describe to my family, friends, and acquaintances how A.I. could be very dangerous, and to what scale, and this man vocalized it perfectly and with associating analogies.
What a wonderful discussion.
I am a computer scientist from Istanbul. I studied it in the 90s. Our Articificial Intelligence class was lecured by a proffessional worked in seattle and he returned to Istanbul just because his mother was sick. Normally AI class curriculum was "decision trees"... But this genteleman said in the first class... "Guys forget about everything about AI, there is a new concept and it will take over t…
Well that would be not the best idea considering existing characters in shows having said name- (totally not protecting Sora from Ninjago rn)
"AI will conquer the world"
computers:
Jan -> January
Feb -> February
Mar -> Marurary
Apr -> Aprurary...
All I can say is thank God I'm not an American in all this. There is no one at the helm for them.
While the US is attacking China/Russia for vaccine diplomacy, this is what is really happening behind the scenes. If this is the international rules based order, maybe it's rotten to begin with.
I don’t think pausing makes sense. Policies can be made while A.I continues to advance what happens if there’s another massive breakthrough in 6 months, do they pause again?
Similar position, a C level was very surprised when they visited and found out no one was using AI, like what did they expect.
