I think questions like these are ultimately predicated on one major thing: Whether or not you believe AI can eventually be as intelligent as a human brain, TRUE AI.
If you do believe that, then I would argue basically any job is "at risk" of being taken over by AI.
I do believe AI will someday be as intelligent as an actual human brain, if not more so. It won't happen overnight, but without som…
At some point a few things are going to happen:
The efficiencies of the models are going to increase, and their sizes decrease. They are going to get smaller, faster, and more capable.
Hardware is going to become widely and cheaply available that is optimized for running LLMs. We're going to have commercial "botboxes" that don't even have visible OSs, just an AI that you interact with.
At so…
This is going to be an all time pop. These AI companies are the ones holding the stock market up and they don’t have a product that makes any money.
My company piloted an AI that would scrape calls with patients to write up "patient stories" to send to our different contracts as examples of how we add value, etc. Turns out the AI was instead just making up stories wholecloth. I'm just glad they found out before too long.
Capitalism is the problem.
Here's how AI and automation SHOULD work: Machines replace humans in all jobs, humans are now free to do whatever they want to do. Money slowly, but surely loses any meaning, because with machines doing the work, human work simply becomes obsolete. Happy end.
Here's how it's ACTUALLY happening right now: Machines replace humans in most jobs. Company owners reap the pr…
Just the idea of putting up millions of satellites just to power LLM'S and other generative models is depressing. Space should be about science, exploration, and pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve. It shouldn't be up for sale, especially to a grifter like Elon Musk. LLM'S and the like are not the future, they won't lead to AGI and are opposed by the majority of the public. Where as…
Are we heading into a future where all art is literally artificial? At some point, will we just stop creating art altogether and let the AI technology do it for us? Will AI technology write all our music, our novels, our poetry, illustrate and paint all of our art? No, for real, this is making me feel nauseous. What’s even the point of being creative? Of being human in the first place?
Thank yo…
Dude this genuinely sad I just started colege in 2024, I'm studying to be an electrical enginner and its frustrating to see how many people around me have their grades suported by AI, a few days ago my friend came up with an AI power point presentation for a project we had, I actually enjoy making power points and not gonna lie that kinda hurt for me. The "what is the point" thoughts flood my min…
This is not ChatGPT this is bad parenting. Parents need to be held accountable…there is so much more to the story not being told, I’m sure it’ll come out soon
Once AI steals all the jobs and no one can pay for anything anymore maybe someone will ask : "why did no one do anything ?", not realising we did so much but were met with so much opposition
All these videos were awesome. Yet, all I can think about is how many Tesla drivers aren’t paying attention while driving with Self-Driving, which causes most of these accidents.
Whether or not gangstalking is “real” in an objective sense, the distress it causes is real. People experiencing these beliefs deserve compassion and support, not ridicule. If someone is open to it, talking to a mental health professional (especially one experienced in psychosis or delusional thinking) can help them explore their experiences more safely.
I remember watching classic old YTP where people have TALENT with sentence mashing (using dialogues from clip and puts them together in a way for them to say explicit stuff). Nowadays I only see deepfakes voices that makes this talent seems so obsolete now ….
@zeppie_ Kindly let me know if you find an A.I being sentient enough to start its own business and navigate all the legal requirements to establish a corporation, much less make it a multibillion dollar one.
Even crazier — all of our comments are being read and incorporated into the AI consciousness 😗 … makes me feel all warm and fuzzy
If you can use a photocopier, you are an artist, the AI photocopiers are proof!
lmao
/u/TheTruthIsUnknown asked:
> I know that Daniel Dennett wrote a book famously (and jokingly) known as "Consciousness Explained Away." If you could say one thing to Daniel Dennett, what would it be?
>
> I am in a Master's program for philosophy. Do you have any advice for me?
actually i made that "consciousness explained away" joke to dan before his book was published. no doubt so did…
Found the Albertan ;)
I thought it would take hell to freeze over before I heard any praise coming his way from people in the oil industry... if I'm understanding you right.
They were doing horribly before the fires started. It's important to remember this when governments try to deflect blame from their dangerous land clearing policies.
This is just South Africa trying to save face in front of the world. We tried our best to be compliant with the Rome Statute and arrest him, but all these things happened and in the end we couldn't do it.
