Also when phones begun having cameras with automatic filters, photographers were mad, influencers spent a few months being smug about it, but it was never as extensive as the sheer hostility and anti-human behavior AIbros have towards... *ANY* community. Not just artists. Musicians. Engineers. Office workers. Even programmers. Anybody who had to deal with the AI community has learnt to hate them…

The point is that it can reply expressing all those apparent emotions if that how you instruct it to behave. Is this news to anyone except, perhapse, our grannies? The great takeaway from the video is that AI is for now, just roll-playing. Tell it to behave like an easily frightened eight year old, and that's how it will reply.

Lot's of automakers call it something like that. Ford calls it CoPilot360 or BlueCruise, VW calls it Travel Assist, Volvo calls it Pilot Assist. All those names make it pretty clear that it's an assist system, not a fully autonomous system. But yes, Tesla needs to rename "Autopilot"

You're so right. As a lazy, untalented Joe, I always tried to doodle and learn to draw, but I never could commit, so I'm still as bad as the day I started, even then, when you try to generate "art", you just get a picture, but you still haven't drawn, you haven't done anything, and I'd still take my crappy doodles over any AI "masterpiece".

@disorderandregression9278 What you're hearing is they have to "re-roll the Gacha" until the AI spits out a half-decent image. That's it, that's the full extent of the "There's more to AI than typing a prompt".

Given that AI art generators now come with built in prompt generators, even calling them prompters could be too generious

The only jobs that are truly safe feom AI are politician and CEO. Not that they couldn’t be replaced by A.I., but they have all the power, so why replace themselves?

Some software engineers already incorporate AI into their work, generating code and debugging programs. Smart people can adapt to the new situations. At MIT, for example, AI is already used in classes to help both students and instructors.

I don't think it's a good idea to have a sticky post for both. It's better to have the two situations organized for discussion, not jumbled together like this. I suggest putting two stickies, one for each situation.

Funnily enough Northeastern China was opened up for settlement only after Russia reached the Far East and annexed large chunks of land from the Qing Dynasty. Manchuria was sparsely settled back then making it impossible to defend and the Russian invasion finally convinced the government to open up the land to non-Manchus.

How many people do you know have the opinion that one of the main causes for problems in this world is over population. "There are too many people." I guarantee the super rich have considered this as well, especially with there being no need for lower classes if all the labor was automatic. If there really is a future of no human labor, I suspect something really bad would happen first.
