@Org80 after 18 hours in a holding cell, the police compared the picture to this man's face and it clearly wasn't him. He was then held for another 12 hours before police realized that facial recognition is not probable cause for arrest. You're blind faith in the police is disgusting. You saw the video and yet you still thought the police did the right thing. You're a disgrace.

TO BE FAIR To be fair, he (half-assed) used a smudged tool to alter the original image and fed it back into the AI to make it better. See?! EFFORT!

Yes, therefore it shouldn't be called nor advertised as 'full self driving' and probably not even just 'self driving'. If it's supervised, calling it that is entirely misleading if not fraudulent.

Andrew Yang? I mean people have been warning about AI for DECADES, but you think Andrew Yang saw something new? Have you ever heard of a movie called Terminator? Came out nearly 50 years ago. Also warned of potential issues with artificial intelligence. Wow. Imagine thinking *Andrew Yang* is/was the person trying to "warn us" as if it hasn't been an issue brought up throughout various cultures …

You mean drivers who are on their phone wouldn’t have been able to react to that, if you are actually paying attention, you would’ve caught that a bit earlier than the waymo car did

Remember when AWS said they had a camera-checkout webstore using "AI" and it was just 1000 dudes in Mumbai watching cameras? They just want to fire people and can blame AI to keep from taking the hit to their share price AI is... whatever we want it to be

@Stone_Ocean_Art The economy rn has been pretty bad overall so I don't really think attributing that to AI is really accurate. I mostly deal with commission work (along with my peers in the same way) and some people have thought that AI was why business has been slow. BUT the art commission business is always slow in november-december, because people generally spend their money on the holiday sea…

it's not the companies who really wanna cut the juniors. its their investors. the companies know this AI bubble will burst into a shit hole, but the investors only invest into companies that look good on paper after "cutting costs""

I can't imagine being a young college student, almost to finish college to find out AI is taking over.

Improve on yourself first before seeking to improve AI. Or are you actively seeking to replace human jobs with AI? When AI starts to be more smarter than people, it means that society collectively has eroded IQ by relying on it.

She is far from alone. There's Brian Merchant, tech journalist and author. He's locked in on how genAI impacts workers and how they're fighting back. He interviewed Karen a few months ago for his Substack, Blood In the Machine. He wrote a book of the same name about how Big Tech acts similarly to the factory owners of 18th century industrial capitalism. There's also Gary Marcus, a scientist and …

I thought that as well, but I noticed the male robot addressed him as professor. So maybe he's some important head of research and had the clout to be the one. I would've thought that someone in the company would've suggested he dress more appropriate though.

exactly. the job decisions are made by managers and business owners and they think and _believe_ that more than 1/2 of engineers can be replaced by AI

@SpinoSam You are incorrect. Watch the video he explains why this is the case for AI and not for people who use other artist's works as reference.

@Le8000x Don't be dumb. He said at the beginning that there were some pre-recorded lines. Obviously someone on the development team thought the jokes would be a nice ice breaker, seeing as those are common fears about AI. You could even tell when they were going back and forth with each other. If you understand how code works in the slightest it makes complete sense.
