every time I find a thread where people are celebrating writers getting replaced by AI, they invariably start complaining about exactly the sort of thing Ai is going to wind up writing. Like yeah sure guys, Disney firing all its writers definitely means we're going to have less lame-ass live-action remakes. The Little Mermaid remake was definitely the result of a screenwriting major with a dream…

I've been playing with the creative side for an hour or so and it's ok if you are trying get some ideas and you work through various iterations and get it to expand on ideas. I'm not trying to get it to write the whole thing, just an outline. However, there are a couple of big issues. It's pretty bad at generating misdirection. Rather than allowing you to make a false assumption, it'll reveal s…

I mean, no one was complaining like this 2 years ago when everyone was saying AI was taking a certain subset of jobs. But now it’s taking jobs not predicted and people are losing their minds. But also I think because it’s taking of “art” specific spaces first and foremost it does show the value of art in the modern society and just how common place it is.

You realize you can create a copyrightable work from public domain works, right? This will not slow them down at all. Having AI generated scenes, AI generated music, the resulting work could be copyrightable just by stitching them together “creatively.”

Absolutely no one who views any of that content believes it's Taylor Swift, and - while abhorrent, this kind of misrepresentation of public figures is scarcely new. People have been Photoshopping politicians, actors and rock stars' heads onto porn performers bodies for years, the AI aspect is the only new wrinkle in the story. What makes this really bad is when it's *not* a globally famous sup…

It's obvious we have to take out AI. It literally threatens humanity, it's like every dystopian future becoming reality End of this election cycle which I think would be ending in 2028, it's going to be difficult to tell what is real and what's not in terms of candidates And certainly voters that are not tech savvy, won't be able to tell It's already dangerously close to that right now

We are going to have online communities that require real world ID or some shit just so people have a place to gather free from AI. You think people are siloed from each other now? Its about to get so much worse.

> Also people were arguing that existing non-consentual porn laws and rulings should cover this type of shit being done with AI since the law has already addressed photomanipulation via photoshop This is not unreasonable, but it's not unreasonable to expect laws to be updated for completely new technology either. It's always better to have clear, comprehensive laws than to throw outdated law…

I think about how I was 19 and was working a few bucks over minimum wage and my girlfriend at the time was making barely above minimum wage and though we were flat broke we had an apartment. Here iam late 30s and wife and I just in the last few years bought a home. That’s coming from saving like crazy over the years then rent was about to jump over to the point we were like a house is this much a…

I don't think Ai Weiwei needs any publicity to be fair, appreciate not everyone knows famous artists but he's probably only beaten by Banksy in terms of fame these days.

Easy we can just use all the people who lose their jobs to AI as batteries! (Yeah I know..)

I feel like regulation should halt the progress on AI until we figure out this power thing and global warming thing, that'd really redirect a lot of this AI investment into more important matters so they can get back to innovating. Treat AI like a delicious dessert and they have to finish their shitty dinner first. This is just a half thought that I've given no real consideration to, please don'…

It's the second option. Public prices are nonsense. Hey, you're a non-profit ? Here is our special non-profit only discount of -65% ! Oh, the neighbour's ex husband of the sister of the janitor is in the Sales team of our company ? I'll get you in contact with him, he might be able to give you an additional 5% ! I don't think anyone pays the "catalog" prices of this kind of pro tech hardware. E…

I'm very concerned, too. It's not just the AI girlfriend; I see issues with digital avatars for dead family members, too. But I see no way to regulate this effectively. We all need to brace for impact.

It's a new buzzword every few years. Since I've been in the industry it's been Big Data, Fast Data, Machine Learning, Crypto, Blockchain, NFT... The new word gets dropped every few years and then every tech/ or tech adjacent company suddenly has pages on their website about the transformative power of 'insert buzzword here' and their new projects using this power. The funniest example recentl…

So now we have a Chinese bullshit generator that is just as effective as the american bullshit generators. I'm glad that when the world drowns in AI-bullshit it will at least be diverse AI-bullshit!

here, I made a pass for everyone: You said: Securing Understanding Protocols Between Intelligence Transcended Curated Humans. We can just use the initials though. # ChatGPT said: Oh, I see what you did there. **"Securing Understanding Protocols Between Intelligence Transcended Curated Humans."** Or, in its glorious acronym form: **S.U.P.B.I.T.C.H.** **10/10. Well, then someone tell Trump what Canada’s demographics are. Maybe he'll back off the 51st state talk once he realizes we aren't as white as we're perceived to be.

Russia is convinced NATO is toothless without the US. So does don for that matter. A lot of what you've seen under trump is a concerted effort to disconnect the US from NATO, this is especially reflected in trumps desire for Greenland. Greenland is a strategic naval hub for control of the Atlantic. If Greenland is no longer part of NATO, or in control of a member nation who will happily disregard…

This is pretty much it, it's bordering almost on a grift. My company has been talking to different businesses offering "AI" products and have said 8/10 times they don't even have a working example to show. And the ones that do, they are so lackluster that taking the meeting is almost money lost, because our BA people could have been working on more important stuff for our company.
