So called AI artists when i hide a feature behind a paywall (they’re literally doing the same as comissioning art but from ai slop)
Kids today have u limited access to the internet and pornography. Literally with a few clicks on their hands. Most kids these days have smartphones. When I grew up we literally only had one house computer, no cellphones just landlines. Yeah we did sneaky stuff, but having unlimited access to whatever content I wanted would have polluted my mind. The internet, social media, sex being marketed to k…
What's really funny is how techbros sometimes say that AI is like photography and that's not even close. Photography still requires skill
@goldenbanana7250 well the electricity cost would be minimal. Like less than a dollar probably. I’m assuming they don’t charge maintenance fees or include a portion of the initial cost for the machine. Then you would multiply the pay rate for each of the people operating the machine and examining the images for however long it took to complete the job. I would guess it’s like $50-$100 depending o…
He never said a "real" job.
In defence of the Roachman, his comments were not about artists not having talent or the career not being real. It was based on the fact that corporations will always choose the easy way by majority, and just like in the tech field, a lot of folks are going to get fired. A lot already have. Have you taken a look at what's going on in animation studios from the big tw…
@anime_pilgrim If an AI is so complex it can protect those in power, and those in power needs this protection, why would it take commands from those in power instead of putting itself into power?
Ai won't replace the majority of artists. That's my take as someone who loves art
I feel you bro, very recently I switched to a stem career as a last moment decision because this is SCARY.
All my support goes out to you and everyone else still fighting for their art dreams. Be awesome, kick some ai ass and avenge us fallen soldiers ༎ຶ‿༎ຶ
I don’t know if this helps, but I THINK you can adjust google searches to time posted. Like, before 2023 or 2022 so there’s little AI and it’s easy to tell the difference.
This point needs much more amplification, and I do believe a greater understanding of how LLMs work could help assuage many of Hank's concerns. The real threats of these probabilistic text/image-generating machines are in how they are actively being utilized to erode trust in our information ecosystem, devalue labor, etc.
you are 100% right, the end product is what those people are after, including me. Dont get me wrong, I dont mind people enjoying the process, but they can do that by just not using ai. So, from the purely practical point of view, ai is great
The other part that I hate is the laziness (I mean, reaching the point of having AI write your AI prompt is a new level, but still...): far too much of their bullshit is obviously terrible... but they don't veto it.
Hahaha faking citations in high school papers, I had that shit down to a SCIENCE. Kids these days, they can just ask their fancy robot to lie for them. When I was their age, I had to walk uphill both ways to come up with believable lies!
They'll even make them for useful purposes. A program that detects human faces could trivially be made to point a weapon at those faces. Detecting the faces is the hard part. Pointing a gun? Shit, thats a bit of math.
-Sell dictator big weapons.
-Find large oil reserves.
-"Realise" dictator has weapons
-"defend" themselves.
-"accidentally" pack all the oil in your suitcase when packingfor home.
I agree. Seems like they intentionally point me to something similar but it's a different brand or something related, like what you would buy with what I was actually looking for. Then 3 pages back I'll find what I was looking for that meets the exact words I typed.
Use Google for Amazon it's the first link and almost always the cheapest price from a popular seller.
Good luck getting Vox to address this. 2/3 of their funding comes from [Comcast](https://fair.org/home/with-no-disclosure-comcast-owned-vox-runs-commercial-for-comcasts-500m-snapchat-investment/) and founding Vox writer Ezra Klein writes glowing pieces about Bill Gates almost monthly (Gates Foundation is also a big shareholder in Comcast coincidentally). Microsoft sells a facial recognition progr…
Seriously what’s even the point anymore, I’m going into college soon and all I hear about is how fucked the world I’m entering is going to be.
Our facial recognition system has identified you as potentially being a wanted felon. Please present your ID.
Or
Your honor, our facial recognition system identified him as a dangerous suspect known to carry a gun and when he reached for his pocket I just reacted.
Doctors who work directly with patients will be safe for a very long time.
This is because 90% of medical diagnoses are based on the history alone, and taking a medical history is all about knowing how to *translate* a patients words and observations into raw medical terms and inputs.
As it stands, AIs are starting off with medical terms, not the patient interview.
Until an AI can interact …
