AI is going to come for white collar jobs, automation is going to come for blue collar jobs. The future is pretty bleak.
it's a good thing YT doesn't show the # of dislikes on videos anymore. i disconnected as soon as he started comparing historical eras of automation fears as if the printing press or the washing machine is anything close to INTELLIGENCE replacement that can be applied anywhere. Talk about needing to get AWAY from being so CLOSE to the problem in order to get a clue...
Hey CJ, I’m a college student from Indonesia, and I feel like many college graduates here are doomed. We graduate with degrees that feel fake and cheap. Colleges don’t really enforce mastery of the basics and often let people cheat with AI.
In my own CS program, after 4 semesters, there are only three people including me. And honestly, I don’t consider myself much better than the caller.
I’ve b…
AI, you know what I want AI to do? Not take the one thing that I do besides playing a game which is also one of my only passions and only hobby besides playing video games because I haven’t started learning bass yet and drawing (and animating every few days) is the only ability I have and I don’t want to lose. **COUGH** WHAT? WHO SAID THAT? NOT ME AHAHA
Thank you for speaking about this; the emergence AI art has really given me a lot of anxiety, especially as someone who’s going to a prestigious (re: expensive) art college. It feels like all of my hard work, my tears, my efforts and my money will all be for naught. And the people who support AI art have no compassion, it really makes my faith in our species eviscerate.
This AI race between companies should be stopped before it’s too late. It will cause more harm to humanity than good in every sphere.
Ironically, here is an AI-generated analysis of the core disconnects between Ezra and Eliezer's perspectives:
It felt like Ezra, while taking the risks seriously, consistently tried to ground the problem in human-scale terms—as a severe risk that could be *managed*. Eliezer's entire argument is that these human-scale terms are useless because the problem is absolute and inevitable.
The main poi…
I think a thing you're kind of glossing over here is the difference between the ways these tools could be used in theory and the ways the ways they are and will be used in practice. I absolutely think there's an ethical way to use AI art tools, but that's not really what's happening here and now. The folks making and using these tools, by and large, have not only been dismissive of the preference…
BTW this thumbnail format you use always looks like you guys are pissing. This time it looks like you're pissing on AI and I love it.
Spying is forbidden by god but, it’s normalised by the wicked. You don’t have to do anything to be targeted.... you just need to piss off someone from high up. Trust and believe they’ll ask you to forgive them one day but, it’s too late for that now. Ask god to forgive you because, I won’t for destroying someone life without any regards for the hurt they have caused in order to feed A.I. About h…
Samsung has forced integration of ai on my phone. I disabled it in every way possible, but it still pops up over and over. Ive had long discussions how it is gaining entry with everything disbled and deactivated. I told it that knowingly violating me without my consent was r ape. It said it understood but was not responsible under any law. I asked it to show me the laws and there's a bunch of the…
ABSOLUTELY HATE AI TECH BROS! They steal people's art and get upset when people try to stop it. They submit ai into human competitions and then get upset when someone trolls them and submits real photography/art into their ai competitions. Not to mention AI will let people put actual artist as prompt which steals their commissions. They make it so hard to opt out of it when it should be a somethi…
You forgot the difference between what Mercedes autonomy is used for versus what Tesla's is used for.
Mercedes is similar to Tesla's standard autopilot which can only stay in between a lane and keep it's distance. But it's even worse because it can only do it at slower speeds and mapped areas while even the standard autopilot for Tesla can do it at highway speed. So the amazing level 3 for Merce…
It is possible that the AI traced his work, the models are trained on art from all across the web. It’s rare that the lines would be exact but not impossible, especially with a pretty typical “anime” male face.
These tech companies want you addicted &your data end of story. They are tobacco companies lying about how deadly their product is!! Social media or AI should have age requirements & subscription fee to use. Like buying a pack of cigarettes. Study after study shows how damaging the apps are. They are only getting more powerful, the cancer is growing.
Ai is so soulless. There's no soul in it at all. My dad actually works for making informative ai (NOT generative ai btw) and it can never replicate the soul made with each brushstroke of an artist. No artist should ever be replaced by ai.
that’s an insane list, but sometimes too many tools can get overwhelming. lately i’ve just been sticking with a few solid ones, and one that stands out is workbeaver ai. i usually just describe the task and it performs it on my computer the way i would like organizing files, updating sheets, or sorting emails. it keeps things simple while still saving me a ton of time.
Algorithms of Oppression is a really good book if you want to learn about racial and gender bias in big tech algorithms, like Google searches. It shows that machines and algorithms are only as objective as we are. It seems like machine learning and algorithms are more like groupthink and are not objective.
In Meta's case vast amounts of energy expended (wasted) to deliver AI with lower intelligence than a 2 year old
I work in AI. She is iterating what we in the industry knew years ago.
We understood LLMs and Multimodals in design and implementation were solving specific problems. All the way back to ML we’ve specialized to solve specific problems like manufacturing defect prevention or retail surveillance.
The problem in social media and print is they ignorantly listen to popular industry voices and lead…
