Great point. I assume that would all lie in the programming. If it's programmed to simulate, then it's not sentient. The question is about an AI that's been programmed to actually be self-aware and have consciousness.

Dang, that's... a *really* good point. I hadn't thought of that. But, who could say what it should be? How would the creator of the algorithm decide what qualities to select for? I'm not sure such a thing is possible, while still working under the supposition that people lie for their own benefit

AI already draws really shitty hands. You don’t need to poison it to do that. There’s literally entire sets of negative embeddings specifically to get AI to make good hands.
