As self driving cars get better, actual personal driving skills will get worse. When self driving fails, you can not revert to people with no driving skills at all!
The truly shameful thing AI has revealed about us isn't how it exposes and magnifies our own stupidity and faults, but just how boring the fallout of exposing those faults will be. While I think AI will facilitate/reveal interesting and good things about humans, they won't teach us much about our faults that we haven't already thought of
Any recommendation for people to be "ahead of the curve" misses a very crucial point - that a world with few adapters and the rest of the people thrown into poverty will be chaotic and unsustainable, even for those "ahead of the curve". And - the small percentage of people who supposedly won't be replaced by AI, will face a market of jobless, moneyless people who can't afford their services.
I personally feel that these algorithms should be designed to challenge the views and opinions of people, not further confirm their biases.
Seems to me like he's seen something going on at Google that doesn't jive with their mantra of creating ethical AI systems. Who would have thought a tech company would do such things? What a shocker!
How do we know this video is not AI produced to put us in a relaxed state so we will not dig deeper?
PICU RN here, I use AI every day to ensure we are not missing anything we can diagnose and treat appropriately. I like to think of it as a tool that helps me advocate for my patients.
@stephaneduhamel7706 If you're disabled to the point where you can't do art... then you can't do art. Doesn't give you the right to pass off AI slop as something you did.
Except AI will take the "grunt work" too.
The very idea of humans competing for an income, isn't compatible with automated intelligence, that will continue to improve.
Agreed the one who started the thread is the AI art and that will get lots of engagement even if artist protest about it. That's just any publicity is good publicity.
"I guess they are pro AI if that image they used as reference gave such a reaction." <--- This is what people will think.
What i hate about the NFT bros is because if nfts were actually used as intended (digital fingerprint for a piece on the web) the it would be easy to counter ai stealing artist stuff, cuz you could use said nft to indicate "hey, company a used my work in their dataset without my consent, here is the nft to prove it". But no, those bastards had to make a quick buck, and thus fate in the technology…
You don't even go half ai, never trust a clanker. I can't count how many times I've seen people almost kill their plants and then come crying on reddit asking what's wrong with their plant when it clearly just needs some damn water. We're doomed if it continues like this.
well he was. He cited a source he had no knowledge of. If you don't know it don't cite it. Academia has become such a game of finding other people who agree with you that there are plenty of dishonest books that will say whatever you want you don't need a robot if you're willing to do the leg work. A decade ago there was a whole ring in India who just worked at creating false consensus in order t…
Yess I don't understand why would anyone ever want to automatize art. Like I'm not doing it just for a pretty image I'm doing it because I enjoy every single part of the process and it's just fun and relaxing and seeing the end result just makes me proud and happy after spending so much time on it
@Cyborg_LeninCapitalism it's just a efficient medium, that's it, it's not bad or good or an ideology, regional states have to regulate the capitalism and if we go with the the tought of "capitalism regulates by itself", we are doomed.
I say this because my president supports AI and Bitcoins because the last thing i said
They ended up giving the dude with AI art more traction, lmao. The idiots played themselves.
I remember 5-6 years ago, like end 2019, a friend of mine said "AI will replace every jobs ! How exciting !" And me, a future game designer, said : "Well, it can't replace creativity, right ?"
Goddamn was 12 years old me right
(Also I said that because I didn't want robots to overtake my future job, now I'm not even remotly scared they will be able to.)
I am an artist, and it's not like I have no sympathy for people of my kind, but I do think that the whole art stealing thing is laughable. Those who claim that ai is taking away their passions or something are unreasonable. Ai doesn't stop me from creating whatever I want and whenever I want. Another point: "Ai steals the art of others to generate images, without shouting out sources of inspirati…
People have watched too many movies Y2K didn't happen the pandemic didn't take us out the plague didn't take us out for Christ sakes man battle dinosaur and bears this robot will be washing our clothes and cleaning our dishes. Humans jump straight to panic
