well he was. He cited a source he had no knowledge of. If you don't know it don't cite it. Academia has become such a game of finding other people who agree with you that there are plenty of dishonest books that will say whatever you want you don't need a robot if you're willing to do the leg work. A decade ago there was a whole ring in India who just worked at creating false consensus in order to keep the grants coming in.
