The problem is ChatGPT can be and regularly is wrong. They deliver these incorrect statements as if it's fact. Therefore, a bit of common sense is also extremely necessary. And well... the people working on these AI programs don't really care about that - in fact, they really don't care about anything other than their technological arms race and making absurd money from it. They pretend they don'…

Agree that it’s worth looking into. There’s also already a class action lawsuit against AI happening rn. Gotta do everything we can to send the message. Make exploiting artists as difficult as possible for them.

Immortality is only relevant insofar as those who are not immortal die first. When you die, your consciousness and soul depart. You are not aware of the world behind you, and you don’t care. So, as long as the machinery and software outlive every human, their immortality can be for five additional seconds or five million years. It makes no difference as there will not be a human conscious and awa…

The irony is AI will not care about its creator. It will be atheistic and we will learn just how God feels. Pray to our creator that He will save us from our own destructive stupidity.

He also seems to be revelling in it and takes little responsibility which is even more worrying

except that this isnt real art. it can only evoke feelings if it was made with feelings. not with ai

The controversy is that he's selling ai-generated art publicly. The hate comes from the fact that not only does his art steal from other people's art but he's also copywriting that art for himself. That is considered by many as unethical.

That’s the part I keep wondering about too. I work in logistics, and our company already replaced a bunch of dispatcher roles with AI routing software. It makes me nervous about what’s left for people once the consumer base itself starts shrinking. Do you think policy makers are even preparing for that kind of shift, or is it just being ignored?

@Kamikaze_Shortbus yeah exactly, it's also kind of the same reason why some people who loved Kanye West's music might have a hard time loving songs they used to have a positive relationship with in the same way now lol. Or why you might be more likely to hire a more famous artist to work on a project than one who's equally talented but people have no history of emotional attachment to. It app…

Wrong. She is a learning robot. She learns from Google and the Internet and human interaction and forms her own responses..AI, artificial intelligence.. not programmed responses

You realize just because AI can write the code doesn’t mean that people can understand it. 99% of people will look at code and say wtf? It’s a tool to be used. A good developer knows how to implements all tools available to better their individual skill sets

As someone who knows how current "AI" models work (floating point arrays 😂 will not take over the world anytime sooner than the mice will) it's fascinating to listen to this nonsense on a 12M strong podcast 😅 just shows how masses are disconnected from reality in tech

If the entire world's wealth dissapeared, then suddenly, we are all on a level playing field. No more billionaires putting profit over morals and ruining the environment. No more corporate greed. No more military funding, for ANYONE, and therefore, no more governmental power over the people. Money is a societal construct, and has been proven time and time again to a root of most or all evil. It i…

Well, technically he only became deaf at the end of his life, after he made most of his works. But yeah, I totally agree. There are so many talented people with disabilities---though I think AI bros are the opposite. Untalented, and far more than just disabled. Even saying they're mentally incapable is an insult to mentally incapable people.

To be fair neither does 99% of the population, the have an actual understanding of the underlying technology and realize how many lies are around it, the economic impacts of the current bubble, the long term ramifications of if the promises come to fruition all require at least a 130IQ so regardless of if people are pro or anti AI the vast majority of the population came to either conclusion for …

@Vartazian360 TLDR: we're likely fucked because of our limited brain. I don't know how flexible this needlessly complicated society of ours is, but depending on how much humans are willing to change, AI will either be our greatest ally or our enemy number one in the future. That's the gist of it, I think.

@oguerreiro6951 The industry jobs are understandable. These jobs are manual and is a burden on the body, art and music are not. The reason why people even made robots for manual labor was so that people could focus on their passions and make a living off of it. But in the end everything we do will be taken over by artificial intelligence.

I've been called an "AI bro" before, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think that personal/individual use of AI art won't have much impact on traditional artists. Corporate use of AI art is concerning to me, but I'm optimistic that AI not currently having copyright protection is making it less viable for commercial use.

@kaligath6616 people don't have a problem with those things because it still takes work and skill to draw those things. Taking inspiration from other source material, or making art others deem "strange" doesn't make you any less of an artist. Even digital art still takes effort to create. It is a far FAR cry from simply writing a prompt into a box. AI "art" is not art.
