@Kamikaze_Shortbus yeah exactly, it's also kind of the same reason why some people who loved Kanye West's music might have a hard time loving songs they used to have a positive relationship with in the same way now lol. Or why you might be more likely to hire a more famous artist to work on a project than one who's equally talented but people have no history of emotional attachment to.
It applies to all mediums, I think people just aren't really culturally used to having an emotional relationship with those who make visual art/illustrators. It says more about how we value visual art than it does about the value of AI. I'm assuming most people will have a stronger viscerally negative reaction to AI music as it grows more prominent than visual art, and it'll be interesting seeing responses to that as time goes on. I bet it'll eventually affect how people feel about AI visual art in some capacity too (same with creative writing).
