ai as a concept is inherently harmful depending on the concept (ai for accessbility would be great, but not at the cost of things current ai is doing like ruinning communities powers and water, etc) but it is very much enrooted in a lot of issues
No, robots do not violate human rights.
Having said that, their human programmers and ultimately the humans who give the orders for specific killer robot programming, they are the ones who would violate human rights.
This is akin to saying that firearms violate human rights by their mere existence.
At least we're doing better than Kazakhstan, right? I bet our internet is better and faster than theirs too
>It will never cease to amaze how the two greatest western powers in history were both taken down by a social media website.
Tells you a lot more about those that were targetted with fake ads
This is the problem with how people approach social media algorithms. Their mindset is, "This is not a good thing, therefore the algorithm is doing a bad thing". Search and recommendation algorithms are designed to cater to what appeals to the individual user. They're not supposed to sift through societal morals and be a techno parent. When an algorithm stops catering to the individual interests …
I don’t think anyone understands the trajectory at which AI is evolving enough at this point to state wholesale that any profession is safe, although I recognize the comforting need to convince ourselves otherwise. So- sure, the writers will be fine.

The ICC has been used as a political tool to exert dominance on Africa before. I'm Kenyan, and the last time we complied with ICC orders they put two of our presidents on trial.
Both cases were dismissed, but the damage is already done. Long story short, the supporters of the opposition are currently running around burning and looting stores, smashing windows, blocking roads and o…
I didnt think about that. I will do some reading. I dont intend on sueing them but I wouldn't put it past Bob to sue me in that situation
What you say makes sense to me, but my AI assistant Boddington warned master that you hatezes us and want our precious consciousness.
yea, i read this thinking “wow if i was so fucking stupid as to stick my kid in front of chatgpt instead of actually paying attention to it, i would never EVER admit that online” but looks like he’s getting his sweet sweet karma anyway
I always used AI before I talk to contractors now. It helps me negotiate on 4 figure expenses and sometimes shows me it’s safe and easy to just DIY instead of waiting for an expensive solution.
Using it for adult chores and errands is incredibly useful.
I agree. After trying out 5 different therapists, “talking” to ChatGPT is the closest thing to therapy that I could find.
This is so far beyond Reddit’s pay grade. I’m so sorry for your brother. He deserves justice, compassion and love from family and the community.
I hate to say it, but I’m also sorry for your cousin. At 10 years-old, she was a victim of abuse herself and was only acting out what she knew. She was not old enough to actually form criminal intent or to understand the consequences of her actions a…
Same. More than half of the final papers I received for my Comp II courses this semester flagged for AI generated content at higher than 75%. If the student cannot show their edit history (in the course syllabus) they will receive a zero for the paper. Once I started that process, probably 25% of the students in all classes dropped, or finished completing assignments for the semester. Our univers…
[Kagi Search](https://kagi.com/) is probably the best search engine right now in terms of results, it is paid though (albeit with a free trial).
Their anti-AI results initiative SlopStop is key to keep results at decent quality: https://help.kagi.com/kagi/features/slopstop.html
Screw AI Safety - this guy is 100% making a clear case for outlawing and banning AI altogether.
That person saying "you were born with talent" to the last comment: as someone that has the same condition and has actively been drawing and then took about a decade long break ENTIRELY because my dad died and there were a lot of ties there. I have some things to say.
So, I also have been floating around artist communities this entire time because I LOVE ART. I love the creation process; the exp…
The crystal effect the watermark gives always ends up making the work even prettier to the point that even if I think my art isn’t good enough for ai to even touch I want to use it anyway
One thing I’ve learned, is never go by what the people at the top are saying - rather go off of what they are doing.. and in this case, the top leaders developing AI are saying “nothing to worry about here, continue as planned” while building doomsday bunkers out in the desert. So, am I to go off of what they are saying publicly or what they are doing privately in this case?
3:44 its interesting how AI-bros know nothing about the technology they blindly trust and defend. I guess everyone picks a random hill to die on without reason or research.
