Long term, maybe.
In the short term, it is literally creating new jobs. The company I work for has hired 4 people this year alone to work as subject matter experts in AI.
With the current state of things, I don't see them, the other developers, or the CEO losing their jobs any time too soon.
Did you let ai generate this? These concerns scream of purity tests, if Ente isn't good enough for you what is?
Don't think rationally now. It's not enough for the Antis to just... not use AI. They have to ruin it for those that do.
kinda hilarious considering canada as a people has never been more outwardly racist towards a particular group (south asians) in a long time then right now.
What is going on is that this is a highly and I mean highly suspicious article on a dubious site at best which is a copy of an infowars article....so it is bullshit not a single reputable source is found anywhere.
Why does reclaim the net need to be so undercover? Because they are distributing fake news.
Thank everyone for your responses to this post but a few points to mention.
Not selling anything, Nobody is forcing you to change your search engine.
If you want to pay for a search engine, go for it but most people don't.
I tried Brave's search engine when it first came out and it sucked but it seems significantly more robust now. Very fast and all my searches were spot on.
For those that h…
Nobody is asking for OpenAI to act as law enforcement — just that they convey plausible threats to the appropriate authorities.
Beyond that: if OpenAI is going to let their product be used like it's an attorney, psychiatrist, doctor, or other licensed professional, then they should absolutely be held liable to the same extent.
No this was all on OpenAI. Rcmp followed what the courts told them to do. How ridiculous to blame this tragedy on them. Disgusting response.
From Gemini (which gave me a pretty interesting trove of information, I recommend it if this topic interests you!):
“If we extracted heat faster than the radioactive decay replenished it, the mantle would cool. However, the effect would be negligible on any human timescale.
The primary concern wouldn't be "running out of heat," but rather the mechanical and geological stability of the crust. If …
Unfortunately we probably need some kind of ‘human’ verification check online… with how easily LLMs can be employed to spoof people - I just don’t trust Sam Altman to be the one to provide that service.
If I had to choose a company I’d trust Apple.
Most of these age-verification schemes are designed so you can't be tracked. Your ID is verified by a dedicated service, which doesn't know what sites you visit, it just computes an age signal which is then stored in OS or wallet. Then sites you visit get the age signal from OS or wallet, they don't get your ID. This is a better way than having to give your ID to every site you use.
I'd prefe…
How are we still denying that AI is leading to increased productivity and likely job cuts. If you do any type of knowledge work at a modern company, everyone on your team is likely 2x to 3x more productive than a year ago.
Makes sense.
Chinese culture emphasizes only caring about yourself and your family's well being, charity tends to be seen as rewarding people that are cursed and it's their own fault they're suffering. Children get hit by cars and are ignored as they bleed to death in the street, poor kids were dying from toxic Chinese-made baby formula while the upper classes are importing Western brands for th…
Yeah it isn't all Indian doctors but 5 doctors at a specific hospital.
________
The five doctors — Kapil Chauhan, Dinesh Kumar, Hemant Jingar, Yogesh Chandra and Rakesh Lakra — in turn accused authorities of the Primus International Super Speciality Hospital in Abuja of threatening them and withholding their passports.

Rubio is the best option left for the Republican race. Trump is a well-managed idiot (at best he will be a puppet in office, similar to Bush with Cheney), Cruz is hated by virtually everyone other than Cruz supporters and Carson is unelectable. Trump is definitely electable, but realistically he's not a better option than Rubio
It’s called bad weather not “climate crisis disasters”. Imagine calling it a “digestive crisis disaster” every time someone had diarrhea
The Soviet Union never used facial recognition and just look what a Worker's Paradise that turned out to be.
Comrade Bernie makes a valid point when he says only the racist white police should own guns. Especially ARs. What could go wrong?

So instead of learning from others mistakes just repeat it. Definitely a interesting perspective, I would agree if they pivoted away once they could support themselves.
Also investing in all these old industries and relying on them will eventually haunt them due to the cost of greener alternatives becoming cheaper than traditional manufacturing/ energies. Plus we see with the US that once you ha…
Please enlighten me why I’m wrong. But this seems like a stupid reason to sue? Of course they were collecting biometric data on you, how else were they supposed to keep track you? This is an Amazon go store, so you walk in grab something and walk out, how else is it going to charge you?
Yup, and the EU is butthurt that silicon valley happened in the US. (I lived in Berlin for a couple years and London for a couple years for a US tech giant)
But one of several big reasons is the tendency to squash new things like this. You could argue the carefulness is worth it or not--- it's really one of those pros/cons double edge sword things.
