Chinese culture emphasizes only caring about yourself and your family's well being, charity tends to be seen as rewarding people that are cursed and it's their own fault they're suffering. Children get hit by cars and are ignored as they bleed to death in the street, poor kids were dying from toxic Chinese-made baby formula while the upper classes are importing Western brands for their own families. And then there's the the crowded cities, the poor sanitation (chinese public and rural toilets are routinely filthy), there's little enforced health code standards for food prep, little acceptance of the biggest disease reducer: hand washing, public spitting and children are allowed to run around with out diapers, defecating wherever they want, complete disregard for public safety, the pollution etc. The medical system is also severely lacking. Chinese hospitals demand payment up front when even kids in America have to be treated regardless of the parents' ability to pay. And there's still a strong emphasis on traditional Chinese medicine that's largely superstitions and placebos where traditional doctors and healers ignore the Western advances responsible for the major decrease in childhood mortality. edit: and this post is getting downvoted fast by the chinese nationals trying to save face.
