oh man...you just missed it...the point flew right over your head just now...
The point is not that all entry to the roads like this can be stopped....the point was that there is a potential for a person (or animal) to enter the road when its already to late for man or machine to react. It is a stawman to suggest that anyone things self driving cars will eliminate all accidents, the goal is reduction. It is yet to be seen if this could have been avoided by reasonable actions of a driver (machine or otherwise)
