Yea imagine if someone wanted to have an ai play games for them so they could save so much time so they can do other things People already want games to be easy and automated or want to pay someone else to play a game for them or something So why is this example the same as art? Might not be stealing someone elses gameplay or something but you do miss out on the biggest part of enjoying the many aspects of life which is simply experiencing things Making art is great its fun Enjoying art is great its fun Videogames are also art and I think paying someone to play for you and similar stuff is the same thing as whats happening here People think theyre saving so much time that they can use to do other things when in reality theyre just ruining a perfectly fine experience they couldve had letting someone else take over for them so they dont get to see any of the game or anything at all they just real the rewards but only the in game ones that dont matter because they havent even played the game to know anything about those rewards or even know how to play in general "elon musk be like" Its like if you paid someone to summarize an entire youtube video about your favorite topic that youre really interested in instead of just watching it Why People want to be lazy and I understand that I love being lazy But I think if we keep paying other people to play the games we want to love or keep generating amalgamations of random peoples artwork into garbage versions of all of it we're only creating a future like the one in wall-e where we just get fed shit and die and derive literally 0 pleasure from any meaningful parts of life anymore because they simply dont exist in the modern world I dont think this is how its gonna end up just because ai art is so bad anyway And I think anybody that actually likes playing videogames will just not pay other people to play for them But its sad that people actually act as if paying someone else to experience something for you and hand in the results is just cutting around the fluff and they get to really enjoy the parts of the game they care about Is kind of one in the same with the ai situation they dont want to play the game they also dont want to learn how to actually do anything that allows them to stretch their creative muscles at all they just want immediate satisfaction why 100% a game when you can download the save or why spend so long trying to learn how to draw when you can have an ai whip up something that kinda looks right for you so you dont have to enjoy any of the joy and satisfaction of doing anything yourself with things that you specifically want to do in your free time Its silly like yes when ai image generation was young it was funny to generate like a fucked up picture of batman eating a burger or something and its just the worst amalgamation of horrifying shit you could ever see but even that is still stealing someone elses art but its not succeeding at replacing anyone When ai got better is when shit hit the fan cuz now so many companies are actually trying to implement this stuff into their games and articles and whatever to the point where its hard to argue that its not a little successful and in being that it means its actually stealing jobs from actual people and we are getting worse and worse products because of it
