You can vibe code, but like all things you need to have knowledge about what you are doing. You need to know how to set rules and inspect. You need knowledge of basic design. For example if i'm vibe coding a project that interacts with a database, you need to ensure no database actions occur while the user is unauthenticated and you want to wrap those actions appropriately. I don't think you can code complexed projects through vibe coding unless you know how to code and ensure the AI doesn't go rogue. So yes you still need to know how to code and if you do vibe code to your hearts content.
