western media is making everything sounds horrible, but dude seriously, as Chinese we feel safe with cameras around as criminals would be caught in days. Thats what make china the top safest country in the world that you don't worry your girl will be kidnapped or raped outside alone at night because of security issue. The documentary also includes Chinese police wearing those facial recognition glasses but honestly living in Shanghai I see non of that happening, it's simply some polices wandering around in metro stations asking for your identity card. They use it to identify criminals that's why we feel safe. Besides, if you rly feel threatened in china because you have your privacy "violated" than just stop using internet because that will expose everything, your name your house address your family your job. economist, your argument is seriously flawed.
