As a senior dev, I've found AI is useful for hackathons, quickly slapping together a POC you'll rewrite later, writing super generic boilerplate, or creating throwaway testing tools. It's rubbish at anything that actually involves anything more than surface-level thinking. Worse, if you use an AI to vibe a significant amount of code, you'll have a much much harder time debugging and maintaining it, as you didn't build up any real understanding of the code while writing it.
