I only know a bit of ML and AI so I could be wrong here, but the problem I see with redrawing AI work is that they can feed this exact image into their AI model to train on, and make it more accurate. In AI, particularly supervised learning algorithms, you feed both input AND output into a model and the model trains on it by reducing the output's errors (cost function minimization), i.e., adjust AI's parameters to minimize the difference between the AI-generated output and the redrawn image (of course, it'll take more than one or even a hundred images/samples to make AI that much stronger). Basically, what this does is further spoonfeeding the AI to become more correct in the future. This is just the surface-level of what happens, though. There's a lot more inner workings to it.
