One of the real strong suits for AI is the ability to process HUGE amounts of data. Lots of current LLMs (like chatGPT type stuff) are being trained on basically the whole of the internet, that's how much data we can feed in. So when you get back a dataset of say hundreds of terabytes from a space telescope, or a constant influx of live data from hundreds of sensors, hey bingo, AI can be a great tool for that! It'll never be perfect and it's sure to miss some things, but you'd need years of human effort to even process a fraction of those data volumes, that's where automation and especially adaptive automation like AI can shine
