Here's how I (biochemist) think of it... And I bet Dr Neil DeGrasse Tyson would agree with me. So AI is basically "just" statistics and linear algebra. Statistics and linear algebra are super interesting and exciting, no doubt! But if you can't get excited about statistics and linear algebra, you have no business evangelizing and hyping up AI because you don't know what you're talking about. Most people hyping up AI don't care about statistics and linear algebra, and are full of shit.
