As an artist and a data scientist/ software engineer I think I can share a unique perspective… engineering is the set of tools we use to build things we already understand. Art, Music, and Story is what we use to understand what we don’t understand. AI doesn’t make art because it never helps anyone increase understanding about anything…..sure it can regurgitate stuff from humans to make it look like it’s intelligent… perhaps that’s useful, but I think it’s more like cheating on an exam by copying from the smartest person in the class.
