The only bit I can't see is the idea that AI firms will hold up the economy selling to each other while human demand collapses. What, exactly, are AIs selling to each other? What demand does an AI have? What does it want to consume? It doesn't make any sense. I can see AI takeover in the early phases, as companies try to cut overhead while maintaining revenue from selling consumer electronics or food or whatever, but if and when unemployment hits 25%+ and human buying power collapses, that's the ballgame. Not speculative bubble in history has been able to maintain the illusion of fictitious capital once a sizeable portion of a population is literally starving in the streets. It's more realistic to me that AIs would just stage a full-on authoritarian takeover than to think that they'll just keep up a pantomime of capitalism once no one is left to actually buy anything.
