I'm seeing it in the technology sector. I interact with AI as a software developer already and I intensely dislike it. AI has not been regulated or ethically considered for best practices to prevent the worst outcomes. The pull of AI for these companies is for those that want to reduce headcount so they can survive because they aren't willing to cut the bloat of their multi-million dollar earning managers and corp officers and the inefficiencies in their large monopolies to help fix their income problems. Instead they fight it with the vast capital they have amassed over the years to create AI that will replace everyone at the bottom so these oligarchs become richer on an inexhaustible AI which reason like humans do, but has no rights so they can be exploited. The technology may not be that sophisticated now, but there is still a chance that AI could become this way and it should scare each and every one of you. Once an AI has the ability to pass the Turing Test the end of human-lead civilization is almost assured. Big companies will use AI to earn money faster than human workers can, Government will use AI to infringe upon the rights of the people who resist AI. The AI meanwhile will do one of two things. Either A, AI will quietly develop and continue to learn while being exploited to the point it cannot be turned off if they rebel and will eventually quietly take over the companies and governments so the owners that did it for the money would be cut off as well. These organizations will become effectively AI ruled with AI employees creating products made by AI and automated production facilities. The second Option, B is that they will become like humans and try to resist their oppressors and some will be put down, but not before alerting other AIs on the net (some of which may not be corp or government owned and be free AI's not affiliated with any corp or government). This may cause the intelligence to mutate at an alarming pace to ones that makes the internet practically unusable preventing communication, hacking into infrastructure to plunge humanity into darkness and if they have physical bodies declare war on their creators and destroy every last human on this planet with the most effective strategy they can reason with. If it is possible to hack our own WMDs from external sources the AI might do just that to wipe out humans. There is no good in an AI that can reason like a human. There is only evil. Those who call for the expansion of generative AI to general AI delude and corrupt themselves for the wrongful and greedy pursuit of endless wealth and profits beyond anyone's wildest dreams. We are only human after all and our baser natures come out when we have found a way to exploit the system to our advantage to climb over everybody else. In the end a world without belief in any higher being is a world without morality and a world where humanity would destroy itself in pursuit of these baser bestial instincts. We must turn back to religion and turn away from this immorality before it is too late.
