Removing the human element makes ALL the difference. There is an enormous psychological difference between killing someone yourself, and commanding a robot to do it. There is a huge difference of support when it's just technology at risk and not the human lives of people you love. But even more concerning, is that a person in the moment is much more likely to think twice about murdering someone than a robot would. If the holocaust was executed by robots, a lot more people would have died.
