Tom's analogy about mammals adapting to change after the meteor strike that killed the dinosaurs, and likening that to humans adapting to AI, makes no sense.
1) Mammals were already equipped to live in a post-meteor-strike environment, or they would have died. They didn't prepare ahead of time, and they wouldn't have adapted immediately.
2) He asserts that human adaptability will be able outpace AI adaptability, but also starts the video by emphasizing the exponentially increasing speed of new technologies' deployment/employment. It's very naive to think that AI won't be able to learn/perform new tasks faster than humans.
