i've been thinking for some time that AI could improve both education, healthcare, and law. they all suffer from the same problem: there aren't enough professionals to go around. law has multiple issues: not enough lawyers, not enough judges, not enough courts. the result is almost all cases end in a plea deal and lawyers are incentivized to push their clients towards a plea deal. for doctors and educators though the 1 on 1 care is SO MUCH better than what we have. having a doctor who knows you beyond just your test results, who can give you their full undivided attention will give you much better outcomes than one who is seeing hundreds of patients. might be a while before we see doctors or lawyers replaced by AI, the legal structure wouldn't allow for it.
