I heard a pretty solid argument FOR AI art, and the argument was, that AI art should never fall under any copyright laws, meaning ALL AI generated art immediately falls into the "Public Domain". With this in mind, it becomes much less likely AI art will steal real world Art jobs, because if there is one thing companies value most, its proprietary assets.
