I always was thinking, how to reduce the cost of self driving cars and STILL have your own thing/ private space:
How about a "Pod" that is yours (you can leave your private stuff inside) and only the undercarriage is the self driving car. So you drive o your destination, the pod stays somewhere nearby and the undercarriage can pick-up another pod and drive someone else to wherever they want to go, not taking up extra parking space (since the pod is much smaller and maybe can even be stacked when stored.).
