Lately I had a thought, that whatever utopian alternative to our current society we have right now, is so much closer to a really disturbing dystopia. I would really love to live in a world, where robots and machines do all the work, that just needs to be done, but bring little to no social value like jobs in the industry, delivery services etc, so that humans have more time for socially important things like caring for their family, working as teacher or health care professionals, focusing on studies that bring pleasure and knowledge just on its own and not with the goal to maximize one's income ... But that means, that the automation and the decreased need of humans working, needs to benefit us all. Yet, if automation is only used by few to hoard wealth, we're going to hell faster than we can realise it. Simliar utopia to dystopia have come true for a lot of countries, that had a power vacuum, because of anarchist or socialist/communist movements or rebellions. It's an utopian idea, that no one should be in power over someone else, since it is a master-slave like situation, but with no leader, there will come dictators or an aristocrate elite, who will use that power vacuum and install themself as the new ruling class. This is way worse than people voting for their own leaders.
