I think before we take the word of any TikTokers about their AI companions being conscious, we should first ask them to define consciousness from an objective (not relational) perspective.

Honestly this design is ideal, storage bins not moving makes all the difference, Amazon showed these robots are great but moving the whole shelf full of bins was dumb, I expect to see a lot of these picking robot copy this design.

I hope the AI's can read some source, then remind me what I was thinking 10 years ago when I originally wrote the code. Nothing worse than having to pull out and debug code that is doing something that seemed really clever at the time, but now seems undecipherable.

When people working for AI companies say that they made their AI have a “moral compass” or aspects that are “good for society,” what they really mean is that they added the bare minimum guardrails to not get sued or banned by payment processors. They’re here to make money, not provide a service that’s healthy and positive.
