Facial recognition has been something that independent "techies" have been talking about for awhile. The feds should start to regulate this industry before it gets out of hand.

Jensen's talk on AI reminded me of how Pneumatic Workflow handles complex processes for us. It's a lifesaver!

I remember I used to work for a mobile games developer and for certain projects artists had tasks to paint over the photographs to make them blend better with the environment. And my friend, who used to do that a lot, said that when it was the only thing she was doing she could feel her painting skills deteriorate (yes, you still need to understand how color and light work, but it's still not the…

Antropic's AI now helps write close to 90% of the code for its successor. Previous technological advances could not help create its own successor. How two of the debators cannot comprehend that recursive self improvement means its different this time... is just mind boggling.

The only thing that's impressive about AI art is that humanity has come this far with technology. That's it. Beyond that, it is soulless and empty. It would not exist if it weren't for real people trading their time for the pursuit of creating and crafting. I remember visiting the Van Gogh museum, getting as close to the paintings as I was allowed to, and having to force the tears back into my ey…

This raises some serious and concerning questions about the nature of the digital self. Who owns images of us? Do we own the idea of our likeness? If so, do people have the right to take our photo in public? But if NOT, would we also not have the right to stop deepfakes made from those photos?

I am from India. They have started hiring in India too. Just recently they hired me. It was a work from home job. But very soon I found out that data annotation is very tedious job. Very very time taking. They expected me to complete 8-10 tasks per day. But it takes me whole day to complete even more than 1 task. They expect the data annotation to be best quality. They give completion ratings fro…

So can they use a false facial recognition match to demand your ID? Are you legally obligated to provide ID?. If so it seems horrifyingly facist to be forced to identify yourself because you look similar to someone random who has commited a crime

of course Americans would mock the concept of robot racism by just literally reenacting human racism jfc 🤦🏾

I’m so glad to see all the comments supporting artists… thank you guys fr. Ai should be replacing chores and menial tasks so that we have more time for recreation, it should not be replacing recreation itself.

Doesn't chatGPT have disclaimers all over its own front page about how it doesn't actually know things and will make stuff up if it feels like it? Yet somehow we have this guy saying "I thought it was a search engine".

The people who built the machine and it’s algorithm are racist, maybe not deliberately, but by the data set they choose to feed the algorithm.

Peter Kazavis I guess there will be special tracks for human drivers even if we decide to limit public roads for self-driving cars only.

Fully agree with your point, but also I would absolutely watch a mashup of baseball and Robot Wars

@Cats-a-Tonic ..? You do realise by middle aged or older people, I meant someone's aunt on Facebook?? Not a literal computer scientist? A lot of gen z are't even fully aware of AI's capabilities, let alone older generations.. its not an insult.

@joeshmoomaster9792 how is it better that I can't tell the difference between human art and AI art?

@Teuwufel i was thinking lately... The whole ai debate is just climate change debate all over again. Just with artists instead of scientists , and tech millionaires instead of millionaires .

I personally enjoy "ai prompter". It delegitimizes them by not even referring to them in tandem with artists.

@pyro4755 They will still need less animators, which means that many WILL lose their job and the rest will get paid less(because companys want money and they already treat them like shit. Imagine how much worse they will have it). And AI is not just a Tool. With a paintbrush you are still the one that puts in the work, you use your hand and your knowledge to create. AI ain't that.

The fact you used AI for this is a fail. Thumbs down...super lame of you.
