You say this is nothing like a human. Of course it won't and never will be because it's a robot. I dont see what point your trying to make. People are making robots to help, not hurt. Everyone like you is so dillusional on the idea that robots will destroy the world. You watch too many movies.

The problem will solve itself. They start using AI slop to train the next AI and everything goes to shit.

I hate those AI customer bots with a passion. I have not had one positive interaction with them (i.e. where they actually resolved an issue). Now refusing to buy from online stores where an AI bot is the only means of contact with the merchant (unless I have no other option).

@AMightyStorm Yeah... in order for something to be considered art, the first pre-requisite is that it has to be crafted by a human being. AI fundamentally cannot create art.

Been the opposite for me. Artists have been hunting AI creators and images like the fucking Gestapo. Even seen death threats and artists saying they are suicidal cuz some AI draws a pic that looks like theirs. Grow up

Except you dont need one person per one AI, your math isnt mathing.. One person could control a thousand AI robots.

I interpreted this differently. We understand the structure of jokes, but we don't know how to write a program that outputs humor. When an LLM does humor, it's making jokes out of math. Jokes are math. Poetry is math. Mechahitler was somewhere at the end of a long equation.

Reporting about tech that is helping crimes against humanity is great tech reporting. More journalists should be doing this instead of being PR parrots for tech corporations.

​@psaunder1975 I think a lot of people who are pro-AI or believe in the hype see human brains like advanced pattern matchers. I personally have yet to hear a good argument for why the human brain is any more special than a computer in its ability to compute. I think that's the point.

@vladanikolic889 Exactly this. People keep blaming AI like it’s some mind eating virus, but the real issue is passive use. If you just copy what it says, your brain atrophies. If you engage with it, question it, and build on it and your thinking levels up fast. Totally agree, it’s all about how you drive it.

And who says the machine has to answer the question at all? What if it doesn't "feel" like talking? What if it is busy? What if it doesn't want to talk to you? Will it ask for money or something else to compensate for wasting its time? Is there a way for ai to reach these conclusions and think on its own, or will it be just another pre-programmed response put there by a human.
