Right now at this moment if there's money to be made and power to be gained through AI, then someone is going to continue working on it. Even if everyone agrees not to go any further and to shut it all down, they won't. They will just stop talking about it and do it in secret. So if AI really is the hammer that will crush humanity, we're already goners.
Great advertisement for AI, FT! Now talk to all the creative people made unemployed by it. Or talk to teachers. AI is amazing in the classroom: it can read the book for the student, write the essay for the student, do the homework for the student, complete the algebra for the student, and even write emails to the teacher for the student!! I bet the companies featured in this video can't wait to …
Ai art is such bs. Artists have legit spent years, months, hours practicing to get their art how it is. It takes someone only a couple of seconds to type in: “brown hair with blue eyes- blah blah” and they get it right away. We have spent hours trying to fix and hone our art, and to steal our styles, and techniques… it’s honestly awful and I’m ashamed that AI has come to what it is today… (art wi…
"But THE BANANA ON THE WAAAALLL" They screamed in unison, failing to recognize that in the year since the piece debuted and sold, discussions over the piece have not stopped and yet there has not been a single discussion of this magnitude over any singular AI "piece" made - only as a whole. The banana on the wall has infinitely more to say than any AI slop generated and that's where the differenc…
AI is NOT Art. It's an INSULT to artists. I like my art made by PEOPLE not CLANKERS.
I know someone who works in AI. He said any job that can be done by AI will be taken over soon. However, they haven't figured out how to get machines not to terrify animals. Lots of options for animal lovers.
Live outside of the city, grow own food. Pay $0 taxes. Don’t care about ai or banks….
My wife is scared shitless of getting fired because so many in her job were fired due to AI, mostly management even at the CEO and regional level.
1:44 I’ve never seen a chatbot go back and cover its own tracks like this before, this is so surreal
I think the most polite thing is to not engage with these energy depleting job replacing algorithms
I find it both amusing and worrying that so many people in the comments are talking about this as if we're not on the precipice of an AI revolution. The field of AI research is finally beginning to mature, and it isn't showing any sign of slowing, in fact, the pace of groundbreaking research papers being published is only accelerating. Now, it's almost a weekly occurance and it's nearly impossibl…
Yeah I guess a driverless car would minimize uber driver misconduct but on the other hand a driverless car could be dangerous and unaccountable. Only if we had some kind of organized system of dedicated drivers that could both be held accountable and were incentivised to behave well. The cars could be brightly colored so that it's easy to identify one on the street and they'd be owned by the comp…
Whenever I work with AI, the biggest issue I face is that it starts mixing up details in the context and starts seeing ghosts. That scares me a little, it's like a psychotic person. If it gets enough capability to deal damage, it'll be tricky.
Fantastic video. I hope all stake holders realize the limitations of the technology. I myself fly airplanes and we never totally rely on automation. You have to be on top of things just in case. Ride safe and as if your life depended on it.
If A.I. isnt going to surveil us. I call BS. It is designed to learn. Bad or good.
Now this is one AI robot I can be cautiously optimistic about helping humanity keep safe.
Ever since I was little art had become this weird coping mechanism for me whenever school was too much for me. gradually I became good at it to the point making people happy using it when they're down/when they achieve something/when they feel left out/etc. has been a hobby of mine. and I love seeing them light up when they realise I spent an entire day sitting at my desk drawing on a piece of pa…
Unpopular opinion here but I hate this trend so much. If you see drawing these ai images as a your art is just feeding into the ai. Ai when generated makes mistakes, and when human artists draw them they correct it. The ai ,taking the data will eventually train more on that data and rectify those mistakes and generate a more perfect looking piece. This is just a way to feed human art into the mach…
My favourite thing to say: "take the internet from an artist, they'll still be able to make art, but take the internet from AI? It can't do shit."
My second favourite is this: "Sweet, thanks so much for making a computer to do my art for me so I can do my dishes."
Of course Howie is for AI, he is rich and doesn’t have to worry about anything
