Ever since I was little art had become this weird coping mechanism for me whenever school was too much for me. gradually I became good at it to the point making people happy using it when they're down/when they achieve something/when they feel left out/etc. has been a hobby of mine. and I love seeing them light up when they realise I spent an entire day sitting at my desk drawing on a piece of paper with pencils just to make them smile. I went on to buy a graphic tablet cuz I wanted to try more things using my laptop and I had enjoyed it so much. Art was not something just anyone could do. same with any other thing like music, dancing, etc. With how things are going right now, art is just going to be like writing. almost everyone who can use a computer can do it perfectly fine. getting a piece of art from someone is going to go from being something that'd surprise you to something like... getting a piece of torn out paper with "congratz!" written on it with a ballpoint pen. And over my experience arguing with people I came to the conclusion that there's a big part of the pro-AI people who think that it's fine that AI will just replace humans in fields. saying that's the ultimate goal. so that people can not work but do stuff they only enjoy. thinking that all the necessities they'll get for free and they can just keep living. while that'd be a nice future, I find it funny how they keep believing in those fantasies when back when covid hit, so many people took advantage of it to earn profits. greed is in human nature. and not every human has empathy to care about someone else's life at the cost of having a bit of fun. I'll keep drawing my art but only share it with people I care about/people who care about me and not on here or pixiv or deviant art or whatever. it's sad kinda. but whatever. I took time off twitter and everything and I'm not gonna bother arguing with people who clearly have their own opinions about it/doesn't care if artists end up losing their jobs cuz of it. I sincerely hope they get to experience it first hand someday.
