Unless the class necessitates you using GenAI (which, I dear god hope not), I wouldn't really agree that "[His] school wasted 4 years of [his] life". IF he did depend on ChatGPT for most if not all of his school work, that's on him. I ditto another comment in here talking about how most students now barely pay attention in class (either playing games or scrolling, whatever numbs the mind I suppose) and just depend on ChatGPT for everything, I'm in the same boat and it sucks (worse case is when the teachers/professors starts using and encourages it too, doesn't even explain any of the code or what it does, just put everything in ChatGPT and show the output...).
