Why are all you world famous experts in COVID just posting on reddit? Shouldn't you be working on this new variant?
I know I’m preaching to the choir in this sub, but people getting bent out of shape over facial recognition while ignoring literally every other aspect of privacy will never stop being bizarre to me.
And what about the court of public opinion which is arguably more important since the advent of social media? You'll never be able to convince thousands of people on Twitter that something is a deepfake. And then what? The victim's reputation is permanently and irreparably tarnished? Just because experts can spot a deepfake doesn't mean anyone else can. Think deeper about these implications.
Professional athletics seems pretty safe as well. It’s not as interesting if AI athletes compete against other AI athletes. We already have e-sports for those who are interested in watching virtual games. The rest of the world still wants to see humans perform at their peak physicality. Like imagine the Olympics or the World Cup, but it’s just AI from different countries…no thank you.
When the Metal Ones come for you, you can't get free, because they're strong, and they're made of metal. That's why my insurance policy from Old Glory has a robot clause. You're fully covered in the event of a robot attack.
Proposal from GPT (not perfect but a starting point)
**GPT Development and Applications:**
* Autogpt: GPT-4 running fully autonomously
* "babyagi" and "toddleragi": task execution and open-source development
* Code translation tool
* ChatGPT for phone conversations
* AI for building financial models
* HuggingGPT: connecting ChatGPT with other models
* GPT-5 development rumors
* Recursive GPT ag…
Dude sorry to say, but this is because you're using it wrong.
Look at this - first I'll ask for compliments. But I'll ask with a bad tone
**This stock trader guy I work with really sucks. Write some huge "yo mama" slams that compliment his mother**
>I'm sorry, but as an AI language model....
I asked for compliments but it said no because of tone.
Open a new chat. Now I'll ask for offensi…
The only thing these threads prove to me is that people do not know how to use ChatGPT on a fundamentally basic level. They're still asking it to "act as" things which is the worst possible way to prompt a personality. They never even use "---" or "###" separation markers or ASSISTANT/USER example conversations.
A few Thoughts.
1. We are human. We are simultaneously curious, kind, violent, creative, virtuous, gentle, selfless, sex-crazed, boring, engaging, provincial and destructive.
2. The fact that people are attempting everything from building ficticious worlds to sex-bots is a testament to what we primates do when confronted with new and novel things: we play.
3. The idea of AI as sanitized en…
The GPT AIs are going to shine a bit of a light on how much 'cookie cutter' work is out there. Some jobs have a little bit, some have a lot and some shouldn't have as much as they do but we learn to live with it to help offset how much work gets put on a single person sacrificing nuance and quality of depth for being able to generate more overall productivity. Unfortunately the increasing 'chec…
Yeah exactly.
Almost every single post about Google or OpenAI trying to capture their position rarely leads with this point and it is THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE. Every single one is "Dude they are just trying to stop progress!" or something along those lines.
Despite Microsoft and OpenAI's obvious motivations - **Can we please at least fucking acknowledge how insanely dangerous these technologies a…
My company is structured with: Architects (staff engineers), seniors, mid level, juniors.
Most of the layoffs impacted the seniors, mid level and juniors.
They expect the remaining senior, mid level and juniors to pick up more stories, but to complete them faster by using git copilot x.
You know it was the case anyway. Garbage in, garbage out.
The speed of implementation says that they built on top of something existing and not that it was built themselves.
An LLM is not a general AI, so by it's very nature is going to make severely stupid mistakes.
If all you care about is providing the illusion of support , then you can fire your support team.
This is pretty misleading. The wording would make you believe there are massive logic errors but realistically, it's minor syntax errors.
For code generation, for example:
>Figure 4: Code generation. (a) Overall performance drifts. For GPT-4, the percentage of generations that are **directly executable** dropped from 52.0% in March to 10.0% in June. The drop was also large for GPT-3.5 (from …
>Carey manipulated, or deepfaked, photos of more than a dozen women, including peers and many he knew from high school or middle school.
>He copied pictures that he found on social media of the women and edited them into sexually explicit photos and videos.
>The district attorney says he then posted those files to a porn website with the girls' names, addresses and phone numbers and en…
Optimistic.. I think AI is going to be hell for woman. Competing with fake images, being sold fake levels of beauty, dumping a guy then he just makes a deep fake of you and spreads it on the internet.. it’s going to often be horrible and that’s pretty sad.
I feel you OP I work in film and things have been pretty rough due to strikes and I feel the crunch coming. I worry about how AI is going to affect our business.
Regarding UBI, I believe it will happen and bring us all down to poverty levels.
The AI take ur jerbs stuff is becoming far too repetitive. I wouldnt mind if it were interesting commentary but it's the same points every. single. time. Please, bury it in its own thread and ban it from the rest of the forum.
Actors can't win? 7 billion others will be willing to sell their voice to be used by ai for pennies.
Anybody saying "this is satire" should realize that they're defending a politician posting deceptive AI images that falsely depict support they don't actually have. We really shouldn't allow this from any politician.
