TLDR; We'll give everyone the shitty models for free, harvest your data for advertisers, and keep the good AI models for ourselves.

> Trump commuting Stone in exchange for Stone not rolling on Trump is of course a quid pro quo. Is it politically incorrect in these circumstances to remind people, maybe in a whisper, that the Constitution defines “Bribery” as a “high Crime,” automatically an impeachable offense?
Hi, I'm a computer scientist who has studied how AI is trained and stores data. You are correct; it is nothing like how a human derives inspiration. I could explain exactly what it's doing but it would be pages long and very dull. The bottom line is that it's a statical model that can not produce original work or even make creative choices. AI should be used to do dangerous or repetitive jobs, n…
Actually there's a ton of positive news about Africa lately just don't read western media (as negative news sells more papers there than good news). Read the top few newspapers in each country you’re interested in. Rwanda is booming for example! They’re manufacturing automobiles and creating a cleaner more unified society. There’s a reason the African population is growing massively. People are g…
"Copyrighting an AI art piece is like trying to copyright a wet dream that you had."
If robots become conscious, does that mean engineers and electricians will became robot medics ?
On January 25, 1979, 25 year old Robert Nicholas Williams became the first person in history to be killed by a robot. He was an assembly line worker at the Ford Motor Company casting plant in Flat Rock, Michigan. The accident involved a five story tall parts retrieval system built by Litton Industries.
Williams climbed into the third level of the storage racks to manually retrieve parts after th…
man this explains why ai detectors flag even handwritten essays, i use trickmenot ai to calm my nerves lol
I’ve been tracking sectors like AI, and clean energy. Companies like NVIDIA (NVDA) and NextEra Energy (NEE) seem undervalued right now. I want to invest around $400k in stocks but I’m unsure due to market volatility
this is so fireeee hell yeah
maybe instead of ai thieves taking your art to sell as merch.. how about you take your own art to sell as merch, it’d be so fire
My biggest fear is "the flood". Its already sometimes so hard to find decent images that are not AI, or heck even "good ai images".
You can flood every single repository with shit, generating thousands upon thousands of images flushing out and diluting everything.
The fetishism for "productivity" and "quality" of something as subjebtive as art itself, this would be like eating a floppy and fatty mass of "something" that taste like something "good" , and so, this would be the first step not a alone a dystopia, but also a dehumanization of humans to "consume"
There are no words on the dictionary to describe how much I feel about AI "Art"
The astronomy homework anecdote really resonated with me.
Last year, an acquaintance asked me to edit an important essay she was writing to apply for humanitarian aid.
I obliged, and I spent a few hours rewriting sentences, adding suggestions to make it flow better, changing wording of phrases.
A lot of that time was spent on the phone _with_ her, explaining the thought processes behind changing…
[UPDATE May 20, 2021] CNN reports: "Twitter has largely abandoned an image-cropping algorithm after determining the automated system was biased." https://www.cnn.com/2021/05/19/tech/twitter-image-cropping-algorithm-bias/index.html
I am from India , Recently my classmate who i sat with during all exams throughout highschool deepfaked pictures of at least 40 girls from our school , he's on the run apparently , police are doing nothing. And his mother is supporting him and he's probably hiding in his own house and his mom said he ran away.
Imagine if it’s even worse - that Grok is simply using ChatGPT API in the back….
At this point it's very unlikely any sort of AI will destroy us by doing a Skynet takeover.
What is far more likely is that the dickhead oligarchs in charge will gut society by cutting too many jobs for AI too quickly, and end up causing societal collapse.
As a wannabe voice actor/ actor its wild to be how it seems a lot of people are saying that people that work in media and entertainment are whining because the natural state of progression is happening also whats natural about AI taking entertainment jobs. Like what xD do you guys really want AI Music with AI actors a AI script? I mean i already see people getting annoyed at AI ads and …
Nah what did the group chat do to the ai 💀
Edit: Let's go my first 1k comment
Bingo! All this is, plain and simple.
He knows he can leverage his position to fear monger his product into the “dominant” but _safe_ AI.
I work in HPC and AI research. The known AI systems are a bloody good search algorithms and image/audio manipulators right now.
