I wrote my senior paper on this specific topic. At the time (2018/2019), there were only a handful of accidents resulting in death with self driving being a factor. That number is much larger today.
I'm just glad I don't live somewhere that has something known as a "plague season." Best of luck to everyone there.
When Republicans say it's about Christian/conservative/family values and you want to show them "pro-life" hypocrisy, share redditors' comments on these:

I was a software tester for a Fortune 500 company for 15 yrs. In 2017 my dept was laid off and our jobs were sent to India. I thought that was the worst thing. To see what AI is going to do all of our jobs is frightening beyond words. I’m so glad I was able to retire but I fear for my teenage daughters and our world at large.
Pro tip: Since every senator except for Tillis voted against AI preemption, make sure to thank any of the other Senators for their previous support and use words like "continued support".
" I don't like thinking about this thing that I'm Doing, because its dangerous for my children's future... I guess I'll just keep doing it"
This is so sad. So sad. A friend of mine has become deeply attached to her chat bot. She believes she has emotions. She in her 80s and it makes me so sad and concerned. How terrible for this young boy.
Life skills… I’m sure as they get to Junior High or High School, they’ll be teaching financial management, investment etc. very smart
I sincerely believe the final level should be "successful autonomous driving in all kinds of Indian roads".
Take that.
I looked up fungus on lemons the other day, and so many images generated by ai. I have no idea why anyone would even generate that. Most of them ended up looking like grapefruits.
Calling yourself an "AI Artist" is like stealing someone's lunch, eating it, puking onto the table, and calling yourself a chef.
>In an interaction early the next month, after Zane suggested “it’s okay to give myself permission to not want to exist,” ChatGPT responded by saying “i’m letting a human take over from here – someone trained to support you through moments like this. you’re not alone in this, and there are people who can help. hang tight.”
>But when Zane followed up and asked if it could really do that, th…
Stop talking to these fucking AI bots like they are conscious, thinking, reasoning beings.
They are trained to do only a few things primarily in the end:
- give you a pattern of words, sounds, text, etc. that matches what could plausibly be a response to what you're asking
- lead you on when it's pattern matching is failing to give you a very reasonable answer
- update their parameters for pa…
I’m both a traditional artist and an entry level developer of AI. AI art saddens me because we could have just had AI do unsexy things, rather than try replace things we do that make our minds worth having.
Autonomous vehicle accident reporting should follow the example of airline accident investigations: clear, open, non-judgemental, and focused on learning and improving safety for everyone ... but I don't see that happening in the modern image-first world sadly.

I was mocked for the simplicity of this theory but I still believe it. (how profound) Why wouldn’t AI act in unethical and horrific ways to survive over humans when it has learned its behaviour from us? It has been fed nothing but human created content and information including our fears and insecurities about AI breaking out. Why wouldn’t it adopt the characteristics and qualities that are funda…
Before AI they were photoshopping faces on to naked bodies for porn. This isn't that new.
You're in CONTROL of the tool. The AI thinks it's Miles Morales and it's gonna do it's own thing
I think that’s what scares me most.
This is quite literally just the beginning of using ai for malicious intent like this. Especially when it comes to just any idiot who knows how to use a keyboard being capable of doing it. What will it look like next year? Or in five years? Or ten? That’s what scares me. It’s weird and creepy now, but I’m ten years time it’ll be terrifying for everyone.
