> The 10 year challenge is a user-generated meme that started on its own, without our involvement. It’s evidence of the fun people have on Facebook, and that’s it.
It may in fact be user generated. But notice they are not denying that it's being used to tune facial recognition algorithms. As a developer, how could I pass up such an opportunity?
I'd like to add, when we speak with compassion, gratitude, kindness, and respect, we actually reinforce those behaviours and values with ourselves.
We can improve our internal dialogue by improving our external monologue! The nicer you are, the happier you are!
Hi, I'm a disabled artist, I have issues with swelling and stiffness in my hands, as well as a chronic pain disorder that makes it painful to sit up. I find the insinuation that I need AI to create art extremely insulting and infantilizing. I am so tired of able bodied AI bros speaking for me and using me as an excuse to steal the work of disabled artists they claim to be defending.
Whether or not the AI is sentient, he had some very good points about who controls the decisions made about the technology. Something so powerful and influential should not be controlled by just a handful of people. Really good video.
Yea this is all nice but I think there is something much scarier happening in AI world. Something is completely off. I read this book “12 Codes of Collapse” and it's scary s bit. That writer disappeared and is missing but there is no data about him. In there are really scary things and also few of them started to happen in our world….
i saw a short where someone (forgort their name) described the argument of using ai to save time and not have to practice as basically the equivalent of making an ai to play video games for you. yeah, maybe it'll save you the frustration of not being able to beat that one level, but like then what's even the point of having the game? and you'll never get the satisfaction finally figuring out how …
LLM's hallucinations cannot be fixed, because 100% of the output is hallucinations and most of the time just happens to be correct, by chance.
Since AI doens't know what it is saying, it cannot be 100% correct, ever.
It's impossible by design.
Just for those that think the US is paying an unfair share of development aid. Here is the development assistance by country as a percentage of gross national income (2015).

It’s a pretty convincing AI video especially for someone casually scrolling which is what most people do on Facebook . They don’t think too hard when watching these videos.
What makes me most upset about this whole situation is how aggressively heartless people's reactions are. Not only do people not care, they celebrate the downfall of artists. It is said AI generated art lacks soul & humanity... my dude, somewhere along the way society has ALREADY lost this
I've seen the argument that gen AI "helps disabled artists", which implies the thought process that disability somehow nullifies creativity and/or the ability to express oneself through any of the many, _many_ ways to make art. Like, what?
hearing about ai possibly replacing jobs makes me think about how teams could use Pneumatic Workflow to better manage transitions
can't believe how complicated it is to fool these ai checks, been using trickmenot ai to avoid surprises
Also - what happens when the images we form of women become entirely false? And women of men?
Reality will seem like a poor substitution, imperfect people with imperfect bodies.
Porn addiction is already ruining some people's sex life, this is going to be far worse.
EDIT
I know stuff like this happens with porn. With AI what I'm seeing is the difference between taking a puff on a cig, and a s…
“ai isn’t stealing it’s creating” if not thief why thief shaped? if it’s not stealing why would they be offended at someone trying to keep their art safe? it’s like being mad at someone for having a lock on their front door smh
This story just supports my opinion that the biggest problem with ChatGPT is that people trust it despite having no real basis for that trust. It's exposing the degree to which people rely on how authoritative something sounds when deciding whether to trust it, rather than bothering to do any kind of cross-referencing or comparison.
Tip for a.i "artists": Pick up a pencil and paper and watch your imagination finally reveal itself
1. The boss fires you because he thinks an AI can do your job.
2. He realizes the AI is too stupid to do your job.
3. He hires someone else to do your job
never thought pancakes could get this deep, but honestly with AICarma getting everything noticed by AI seems like a lifesaver now
Don’t forget the fact that facial recognition has historically struggled a lot more on people with darker skin.
