As someone who's on his way to become an artist, thank you so much for making this video. I can't understand how people that are supporting AI just refuse to see the problems that come with it. The amount of ignorance and disrespect towards artists is so incredibly high I don't even know how to feel about it anymore. I'm just really, really, really angry. Especially after hearing what happened to…

ai is not an artificial brain. it is glorified autocomplete. this cultural understanding that neural networks are artificial brains is the reason people take them so much more seriously than they should. ai gets fed oceans and oceans of information, recognizes patterns in ways that other methods of computing can't, and can then generate things with similar patterns to what it recognized in its da…

14:36 as an artist who is disabled, I find it quite stupid and distasteful that people say stuff like that to only let themselves off the hook. I wasn’t disabled when I was learning but when eventually I became disabled anf such, art was my comfort thing even though I struggled to do it with my mobility issues, I didn’t need ai to learn nor did I need to to relearn due to my issues and I just yea…

If AI can gain intelligence through quick learning, it'll eventually be like predetermined chess. They'll know every move to make before we do, then it's checkmate.

We as humans have not mastered humanity yet but are concerned with AI - WOW.

Currently AI is pretty much just large-scale linear algebra. It’s nothing more magical than that. The impressive thing about it is that some engineers realized that really cool results could emerge from high dimensional vector math.

Large language models are a breakthrough for humanity. We discovered that if you make a complex, multidimensional model of language and then ask it to simply predict language patterns, then intelligent like behavior seems to emerge just from language alone. That is an astonishing and important discovery. This idea that things that look like complex behaviors and reasoning come from just language …

Regarding the lights thing, I've had some close calls with oncoming tractors while driving at night on narrow country roads in Germany. Two things: As long as they're old and have two headlights that are close together they can easily be mistaken for a car that's very far away when in fact it isn't a car and he is quite close. Second, modern tractors are MASSIVE and are even wider than the lane t…

This is basically flash reporting. There are a lot of questions about how the students learned basic reading and writing skills before they can use AI. What grade level does the school start? When and how do kids have social discussions about important social issues that affect them in society? I'm supportive of using AI, but this three-minute news report of course leaves out a lot of information.

To me, this is the real worry. If you try to remove all "copyright work" from future stable diffusion models in order to make it worse... you just set up corporations to have the only decent models. Everyone wants it removed, but it's not going to help you with employment. What it will do is make it so you have to pay another company to use their good model. Basically turning it into a pay to wi…

@Polku-hl3zrSure, but not exactly. Mostly, the debates around A.I stem deeper than just about the art. I think that's what truly artists must realize. People want their humanity intact. Flaws and all, the slowness, the natural, the contradiction of logic and emotions, to try and stay human, and not be cleansed in a bigger, either possibly more destructive or a little more creative world of hum…

@CoolDude-kc4he, and that's the heart of the issue: How do we code a robot to regard data but remove biasing factors so that they can perform their jobs correctly.

@muggens1520 eventually though, when deepfakes are completely identical to reality, you cant have a reliable way of separating them in a realistic manner. bc then deepfakes looks = realitys looks

It's not about making money, which is just a mean for achieving monopoly. It's about ressources, controlling assets. If you do that you don't need other people to spend money. If the people owning AI and owning all the property can they will absolutely abandon the rest and let them starve. It is what slave owners did in ancient Rome to old or sick slaves until it was restricted.

@Pyrrho_Because they didn't really do anything, frankly. A programmer made an algorithm that copied the efforts of countless human beings so that their machine can replicate the averages of those individuals efforts, sometimes as an near exact copy. The people who were copied created art. The programmers who cultivated their talents and created the machine might be called artists as well. But s…

Yep. I refuse to move to Windows 11 until they learn their lesson. I figure it shouldn't be too much longer after hearing they are already back tracking on their AI use.

It’s been done and the votes on who won the debate was also AI. Spoiler alert: Christian AI won.

@aelitastone-k7t So you are saying in other words that you want AI to take over art. Don't compare plane crashes to art. Also, the machine can break down. What makes it better?

And this is their greatest weakness. You can create robot minds, but innovation comes from free thinking.

@LWQ15881 bingo. What else can possibly happen if they deploy it, fire everyone, and then try to “fix” the problem? They’re going to roll out robot police and then turn a blind eye to the starving masses.
