I think it will end at Stage 7: Self Aware AI. The concept of Stage 10, god-like AI, some science fiction guy came up with that extreme idea. It would make a good movie though.
It's their style completely ripped out of frames of the movies and shows they've produced, which in fact is illegal considering this is straight up copyright
"Not illegal" Well AI takes images from the studio. So
As a young man I received an education in shoveling dirt. I learned how to be efficient in my movement and hand placement to resist blistering. The thought that there is nothing to learn by shoveling dirt is complete BS! I learned what I could accomplish if I simply got to work, how effective I could be with a prybar to move boulders, angle of repose, safety, soil types........ Lessons I am than…
This might sound weird but I think if you arent willing to make something or have someone else make it for you, I think you shouldnt have it at all?
One of the things I hate the most about AI is when people that are capable of making art in a medium use it to avoid learning another medium.
For example, take Angel Engine. The creator did write the story. Ok, thats good. I understand animation…
It’s way easier to say “we’re cutting jobs due to AI” than “we’re cutting jobs as the economy is doing poorly and we overextended our tech positions” for some of these companies at least imo.
If robots are sentient, would a robot made by an engineer perceive said engineer as its parent?
It's insane robots breaking the laws is fine while humans get fined. I think if robotaxis and selfdriving cars were fined for their traffic violations this model would stop being economically viable.
This sounds like a problem that wouldn't exist if workers owned the means of production. If AI took someone's job, and that person actually owned part of the company and had a say in how it was run, they would probably find a new position in the company to work in.
My understanding was cars like Waymo only operate in pre-mapped environments, where Teslas are built to “read the room” and figure out what’s in front of them. LiDAR or not, that approach makes a huge difference in the performance and limitations of the autonomous systems.
Being able to poison AI databases with one simple tool is insane
Hopefully we can somehow do this with audio 🙏
As a wise man once said, "AIs should make my job easier, so I can focus more on being creative and making art, and not being called "creative" and making my art, so I can focus more on my job.
I would never listen to any music, or appreciate any art made by AI...
The fact that what he was doing with chat bot was called a relationship is at the core of the problem here
It’s another capitalist scam. The idea (with regards to automation) is to keep the workers pacified until state violence (police/military) can be sufficiently automated (and under the full control of the capitalists). At this point, they won’t even need to maintain facade of liberalism.
I once heard someone join in a similar discussion with the phrase 'free art for everyone should be a utopian ideal, not a horror story', and lately that's basically been a summary of my attitude toward it. I think AI generation has a lot of potential to be useful, however as it is now I expect the people in charge (or at least providing or in control of the money) for most projects are predomina…
1:36 Open AI is not profitable and their value comes from investor hype. They are burning money by the billions currently.
History repeats itself. The industrial age replaced artisans with machines. Now, the AI age is set to replace those who've become human machines.
It is terrifying to imagine a world where Microsoft, Amazon, Meta and Tesla are the only ones allowed to govern these AIs while restrictions are put on the rest of the internet to ban them from advancing open source AI.
5:07 "I thought our goal was to take over the world" says the robot. "He's an older version" says the other robot
An an AI researcher, I am not happy when I see these videos that cite Hawkins and Musk as "experts". They are NOT experts, as a matter of fact, these people don't know more about AI than the average public. They are smart guys that might know a lot about other topics, but not about AI. What we need is to push research into understanding the important issues that would prevent these horror film sc…
The fact that so many AI "artists" don't disclose their use of AI indicates they are aware this is not something the general public would willingly search for. It renders their whole "progress" bit moot. If you're not ashamed or embarrassed, then why not inform everyone how you didn't actually make that art yourself?
