This might sound weird but I think if you arent willing to make something or have someone else make it for you, I think you shouldnt have it at all? One of the things I hate the most about AI is when people that are capable of making art in a medium use it to avoid learning another medium. For example, take Angel Engine. The creator did write the story. Ok, thats good. I understand animation is complicated and expensive, so I would get it if they took a simpler route. *BUT* if they couldnt be bothering to learn basic photoshop and use premade assets, and they also didnt want to hire/collaborate with an artist, then I think the story should have stayed as just writing. Lets take a less specific example: a musician makes an album and needs some cover art. If they cant make it, they are gonna have to either get someone to make it for them or use something from the internet. But they dont want to do either, so they just use AI and call it a day. Ive seen this happen with some small bands I really liked and it completely broke my heart. And of course, these kind of people wont usually generate something in the medium they can do. If they can make music, they will make just the music and generate the cover art. The creator of Angel Engine most likely wont just let the AI write their story. They are not dumb. They wont replace themselves, only others. Ironically, if AI was around before they learned their craft, they would have most likely used it instead of learning, and thats what I fear people will start doing: stop learning how to make any form of art because theres an AI that can "do it for you". And even if people continue learning, they wont get together and create things with others as much. I miss the days when I could listen to a new song and be 100% sure that both the song and the cover art were made by humans. Maybe different people, but humans nonetheless. Same goes for book covers and illustrations and in the near future, animation (I hate this so much but its a matter of time). With AI, you can just generate whatever you want, but you didnt make it. No one made it. Its not art, because it was not made by a human. Its an empty image (or whatever media you made), that wants to convey an emotion it lacks, because it wasnt made by an actual person capable to have feelings. Humans being replaced by machines for the sake of efficiency doesn't have to be a bad thing, but theres no room for that in art. It goes against the very nature of art itself. Generative AI will never be a tool. Its a replacement for human expression. Its the proof that people treat art as a nuisance, either in favor of profit or because of laziness. This is a really good video, but you mentioned AI being a tool at some point and I hate that phrase so much I lowkey had to write an essay lol
