Its sad because his original drawn stuff is sooo good. Its not industry level but it is an insight into his soul and mind, we see what his imagination can do. AI robbed us of a fabulous creator

The Terminator was released in 1984. Reece explains how Skynet became 'aware' and started a nuclear war. People have had concerns about AI for at least 40 years.

@shahmirzahid9551 well, "relying" is a bit misleading of a term. it was a low priority topic which i were to take based on if it's feasible to do in a short timeline, and i decided to try out chatgpt on a "if it works works" basis. it didnt work, and i haven't used it since for this purpose whatsoever

It isn't that llms have reached the level of human intelligence. It's that human intelligence has been systematically overestimated for centuries and it's getting harder to ignore.

@piripiri-kefalotyri when you steal other's art to make your ideation for profit, be it money or fame. I'm not against using AI for pictures for a DnD char or personal use, but when people release their "art" into the web under their own names and take the fame whilst the AI model used the style of an actual artist, that's just plain stealing.

@WillyJunioroh you’d be very surprised accounting, graphic design, copywriting, editing, animation, software engineering, and law has all been crushed at the entry level by ai, like ALREADY. And a lot of employees don’t trust recent grads due to ai usage in college (graduated in 23) you must not be in the market or talking to hiring managers

It also reveals something about these pathetic AI bros. Art isnt simply a skill, it’s a process - an act of expression. Toddler’s make art all the time. Cavemen made art. There is no skill level required to make art. It’s not art that these AI bros want access to. It’s the time and skill YOU as an artist has accumulated. And it’s because there is money in that because ultimately when you buy art…

I’ve seen machinery do surgery. There’s self driving cars, robot police. No industry is safe. The WHO are discussing a worldwide universal basic income for when our "services" are no longer required.

Respectfully, those are not dangers of AI. They are dangers of fascism and the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie... within the context of which AI has come to the fore as a featured means. In a different context, AI can be and will be used in much different ways and for much different ends. See: PRC.

Well, no, it can´t. We do not have AI. We have algorithm-based models we like to call AI, but this "artificial intelligence" is just like an "artificial plant", superficially it might look like a plant but actually it has nothing to do with a plant, just as AI has nothing to do with intelligence. The state AI is in, is the maximum we are able to reach, nobody on this planet has the slightest clu…

Nicely stated. Just like a true psychopath, an AI can only imitate emotions without “feeling” them.

Look at your Samsung TV and ask the question. Don't even have to turn it on. CIA runs the helpdesk.

It suggests that either: 1. The presence of these Covid related antibodies diminishes fairly quickly after recovering and/or, 2. A way way larger portion of the population in Wuhan would need to get sick in order to achieve herd immunity. Edit to add: The sample studied was a random selection of people in Wuhan. It would include both people who were and weren’t sick. The 4% of people who tested…

Fun fact: one of China's domestic surveillance programs translates literally to SkyNet, though a better translation would be Heaven's Net.

Why are so many people gatekeeping ChatGPT? If you want to use it as a search engine, do so. If you want to use it to create structure for college essays, do so. If you want to use it to create cover letters for job applications, do so. If you want to use it to create ideas for songs or poetry, do so. Tired of people pretending they know exactly how it works and what everyone should and…

> use it like you would use Google Oh god no. ChatGPT provides you with _no sources_. You literally only can take what it outputs at face value, since it won't tell you where it got the info from. It's as if you were using Google by typing in a query, reading the first four headlines, smooshing them together in your head into something and calling it a day. It can be useful if integrated …

>The really repetitive tv shows, it might work. It could probably write 90% of an NCIS episode. A studio may find that acceptable if a low paid intern can complete enough of the AI script for that show to be completed. They could argue that employee isn't a writer but is more of a "proofreader" or something... For the studio, the story doesn't need to be great. It just needs to be "good en…

As a Med Student I use ChatGPT a lot to have stuff explained to me and learn more about the mechanisms of diseases etc. However, ChatGPT usually comes up with answers which sound true but they are actually not. There are a lot of cases, especially in the molecular level that ChatGPT hardly understands and usually gives wrong answers. I am excited to see what is coming in the future tho. Just be…
