They don't think that far ahead. Their only goal is to stay ahead in the short run, and win the AI landgrab. What happens after that is a very long distant second concern. They'd rather be top dog in a dystopia than merely rich in a healthy society.
@kacperbraszkiewicz2819thats the thing humans inspire each other but ai art just takes art from arts without consent and not paying them. Look into it there are literal ai art pictures that still have the original signatures from artists that were never asked.
I don’t know why you’re surprised, people USED ChatGPT aka “AI” for their papers and degrees 😂
Im an artist and I'm heavily against AI art. That being said, some people do actually just have more talent than others, and that's okay!
I've been drawing for 20 years, doing anatomy studies and the tried and true 'copy a master's work to see how it ticks' method as well as just trying to develop my own style. I know someone who at the age of 14 in the span of just a year went from never drawing…
Agreed! I live in Austin and I do not consent to share the road with Tesla’s driverless taxis. Waymo is way safer but I don’t trust Tesla
For real dude, that's probably the most realistic AI voice I've seen. Even the cadence and word choice sound like what he would say
@sianaisI have to disagree with you and Asmon. While it's true companies will always prioritize profits over people art as a profession has never really been something super stable anyways except for the ones that have already established themselves like Miyazaki, or other big names but even they have to know it's an industry that's always been in a constant flux. Also consider that while AI mig…
Barack Obama once asked Steve Jobs how he he could bring iPhone manufacturing back to the United States. Jobs replied, you don’t. I either leave it in China or bring it back and automate.
Yea, good point. I would argue even 10% job elimination needs to be addressed.
At those levels you're already talking about a huge group of people with threat to housing, healthcare, and risk for addiction and crime.
This can become an overwhelming financial and social burden for local and federal governments.
So much needs to be done by governments starting now, and the current US budget bi…
I am working with a professor from NYU on AI Detectors, prompts like these are a Big issue for us.
Also "Beat Detection" is much simpler and works about as well.
Alsoooooo some artists aren't content with ai existing at all (knew from one of the facebook groups)
Exactly. Thanks for saying this. I've developed and published new AI models and am a neuroscientist and there is way too much anthropomorphism in how they're being thought about and talked about. AI is a complex language generator that is very good at faking that it's thinking when it's just parroting the statistical weights of its training data. Cheers.
Definitely accurate, but I think his broader point of the cat being out of the bag now and that there is no going back because even if every tech company in the US decide to stop everything China and other countries will just use this to their advantage to sprint ahead of us is spot on. The goal had to be to never develop this level of AI in the first place because once it exists, someone somewhe…
While China has been doing some commendable inroads in climate change treaties and legistlation recently, we should not forgot that many of their large cities are still toxic shitholes where people get warned not to open their windows. I don't think Australia is having problems with visibility below 100 meters.
The Daily Mail, and to a lesser extend the Daily Express, The Star and The Sun are way more influential than Sky News
You are fixating on only one part of the supply chain of semiconductors, of which Taiwan's TSMC is a major player.
1. Instruction Set / Architecture - dominated by x86 or ARM (American)
2. Chip design - dominated by American companies (Apple, Nvidea, AMD, Google)
3. Fabrication - dominated by TSMC, only competitor (at the bleeding edge) being Samsung
4. Equipment and Software - ASML (Dutch co…
If the developed countries really care about the future of the human race and the future of ourselves, the least thing we can do is share cleaning energy technology and set up some funds to help developing countries build clean energy facilities.
A good part of the middle east is poor as fuck. I think you meant the Gulf States+Israel.
I imagine it’s because we know precisely what text is supposed to look like.
Everything in the clip probably has a million small errors, it just doesn’t stand out because a nose, (for example) can look a million different ways and still look like a passable nose
ChatGPT 5 is awful I woke up this morning with a friend lost. I hate OpenAI. I’m unsubscribing.
