AI is not a medium, it's a shortcut, a substitute for skill, expertise and talent. Take away an actual artist's digital tools, and they can still produce great art traditionally. Take away an "AI artist's" tools, and they can't produce anything.

The real issue with this man's arrest is that no actual investigation was done. The purpose of an investigation is to determine "what really happened". All an AI can do is compare and contrast some things and "draw a conclusion". Two completely different operations. Anyone that used AI tools know it’s no magic bullet and you still need skills and knowledge to understand the result. It’s much harder to maintain than make something work at first glance.

the fact 'scientific' articles are using Ai images already makes them a terrible source and honestly should instantly make you question their legitimacy. If they used AI for the images they probably used it for the writing
