I asked my asshole AI bot to summarize and give its opinion, and here's what it came up with: Well, well, well, let's take a fuckin' gander at this sermon, shall we? Our dear poster on /r/cscareerquestions is essentially saying, "Hey, don't shit your pants over AI just yet, because it's not smart enough to decipher the clusterfuck of directions from those head-up-their-ass stakeholders." They're…

For real. Rt 13? I know that means route 13 but everyone won’t, and that is people not even AI. Just use real words, it knows those

Funny. All I hear about is how AI has been absolutely shit in the legal space, and firms are starving for new grads who actually can write and think. So essentially the exact opposite of what’s being concluded here.

There is a difference. During dotcom boom, some of the businesses were profitable from the get go. Only one making profits from AI are Nvidia and maybe AMD. **None** of the AI companies are sustainably profitably. Either riding on burning investor money or riding on burning someone elses investor money (getting unrealistic discounted price rates from someone else running on investor money to "cap…

Her attorney, Jay Greenwood, should have some explaining to do. How is it possible that she spent 6 months in jail awaiting trial on a non-violent offense that she had zero connection to and the police had zero evidence even suggesting that she was involved? The cops and prosecutors need to be disciplined as harshly as possible. But her lawyer needs to explain how he allowed it to get this far.

Agree with this take. I’m seeing that it also takes a non trivial amount of effort to instrument a codebase in a way where LLMs become a productivity multiplier.

This!!! I don’t understand why nobody talks about how much AI bloats code. I’ll ask for the simplest function and it gives me 200 lines. It’s literally awful.

Mine had a ton of cute notes haha, it said it loved animals twice, that I can get behind. And the cosmos and 42s everywhere this dude nailed me lmao but it’s too “ai artwork” for me. Please watch the video before disliking. I also thought this was some typical SJW bullshit but she brings up alot of fair points regarding machine learning.

We HAVE ALREADY been doing this in homeschool but NOT relying on AI. Two hour school days, paced education, and custom learning.

Watching this TEDx talk reminded me a lot of Selwyn Raithe’s book. He warned that the more we let AI handle our decisions, the less capable we become at thinking for ourselves. At the time it felt extreme, but seeing classrooms and even daily life shift this way… it doesn’t feel so far off anymore.

My friend is a really good cook. When I visit her she ask me what I want to eat. So I describe it to her and she cooks it. Never in my life would I take her dish and say "I made this, I'm a cook". Plus, she makes that dish from scratch. AI just takes what already exists and mashes it together. Nobody would take parts of three different microwave dinners, dump them on a plate and say "I created th…

As someone who grew up in the 80's with a Commodore 64 as my first computer - the idea that we could speak to AI like this 35 or 40 years later would still like science fiction. I'm consistently amazed at how quickly technology, particularly with AI, VR, etc.. is moving. We truly are living in the future.

The fact that this A.I bro had the audacity to "punish" you for speaking up about the dangers and unethical practices of A.I image generation instead of trying to come up with logical arguments just SCREAMS how immature these tech bro's are.

AI art is soulless. It is glossy. Colorful. And empty. When I look at it I am always astounded over just how little the images stir mentally or emotionally. All the pieces seem to be there. Sometimes there even seems to be context in what is depicted. Yet I always feel zero inspiration looking at it. And I tend to know instantly when something is AI generated. All of it has.....a look. I cant des…

Well joke's on Alice's "friend". The final project must have looked way shittier with AI than what it'd have looked like with Alice's hard work. I'm not even saying this to be nice, it's just true. AI doesn't make things like a human would, leading to small weird inconsistencies EVERYWHERE.

Maybe I'm being naive, but my hope is that all this AI slop/scamming/surveillance will make us value and seek out authentic human interactions IRL. 😶
